I agree with you but i’n not so dure there is any hypocrisy here an I beleive there is a rile that says you cannot send a 17 yr old into combat. Plenty of berths ashore for them until they reach 18. Please do’t ask me to cite it, but I beleive it has been that way for years.
we’re giving away our money, we can impose whatever standards we want, whether you consider them hypocritical or not.
these other places aren’t about a very small percentage of under 18’s serving in a military that isn’t forcibly rounding them up and conscripting them to fight, this is about countries that routinely conscript, sometimes against their will, 11, 12 and that age kid to fight in battles and they have no training and ifvthey die or are injured don’t have support logistics.
apples and oranges, friend. please. that’s a huge difference. we don’t do that, and that’s a fundamental difference. we aren’t being hypocritical, think about what these countries are actually doing compared to leting a few mature almost-18 yr olds serve because THEY have made a voluntary choice to serve and gotten parents’ permission.
Geez, do i really have to explain this to FR people? crap on toast.
