That’s a good one, but, some Obama voters might mistaken it with a ex-lax commercial.

Two small rumblers in the north Dallas vicinity. Would that be the New Madrid fault?

No. New Madrid runs along the Mississippi R. in the area around the boot heel of MO.

I doubt the three photos of the 12-story building falling over are from this earthquake. It looks like a controlled implosion. Note the chain-link fence around the location, the trees don’t have any leaves and the sky is gray.

Yes, but it is not unusual.

There was a full moon , as well, which is a factor in the amount of earthquakes, but only one of many factors.

What helps is to see the patterns of Earthquakes, all over the world, at the same time.

This tiny little program shows you Earthquake activity in a way that lets you see these patterns. AND IT's FREE. It spent 2 hours just playing with all the controls. Imagine being able to limit your view to just the earthquakes in the last half hour, or only those 5.0 and higher.

EARTHQUAKE 3D

Just go to the link, download the program (takes 2 seconds) and run it.

When you do , notice this. Although the Pacific Ring of Fire is active, most of the other half of the planet is rather quite. You can't see things like this on something like the USGS maps.

If you enjoy monitoring earthquakes, I guarantee you will really enjoy this little program.

Same one. Click the link and then “Magnitude.” Only one greater than 7.0 in the past seven days.

Actually, this one was on the Nazca Plate, not the Pacific.

I subscribe to the USGS Earthquake Notification System:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/feed/

They send you an email whenever an earthquake hits anywhere in the world, and it is free.

If you check the USGS map here http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/ , there is only one. They must have “upped” the magnitude once it was checked by a geologist.

I’m sure to get flamed for this but I’ll say it again anyway. These are almost always within 3 days before or 3 days after a full moon.

There was a major solar flare a day or two ago... and yes, full moons also, that would explain the crazy Liberals acting so bad.

The April 11th 2012 8.6 Indian Ocean quake separated the Indian Ocean plate in two... at least that is what I read.

I don't remember specifically, but it might be the one where they had a charity auction in the warehouse.
