A top Democrat strategist and donor who served as President Obamas lead auto-industry adviser recently conceded that the rationing of heath services under Obamacare is inevitable.
Steven Rattner advocated that such rationing should target elderly patients, while stating, We need death panels.
Rattner serves on the board the New America Foundation, or NAF, a George Soros-funded think tank that was instrumental in supporting Obamacare in 2010. Soros son, financier Jonathan Soros, is also a member of the foundations board.
Rattner was the so-called car czar, the lead auto adviser to the Treasury Department under Obama.
Last month, Rattner penned an opinion piece in the New York Times titled Beyond Obamacare in which he proclaimed We need death panels and argued rationing must be instructed to sustain Obamas health-care plan. His comments have been virtually ignored by traditional media as the president campaigns for a second term.
We need death panels, began Rattner. Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health-care resources more prudently rationing, by its proper name the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.

Whether it is insurance companies or the gov, there comes a point when they are not going to throw good money after bad.
And given a centrally managed government model, he’s correct.
Exactly. Fmr Sen Frist has written about the sogennante “Death Panels” as well.
But you can sue an insurance company if they don’t provide what they promised.
Exactly. You still have the right to contract. You won’t get that with the government.
We can address the issue this way. Cut medicare and medicade to just Democrats. That pays for all the new entrants to the system.
Are they going to be armed death panels?
I bet they are...
Do you trust the government with your life? With insurance companies, you have an idea what the limits are if you read the policy; you have the freedom to accept, shop for another company or do without. With the government in control, you will have no options.
I predict that the death panels will use affirmative action in their selection process. White males will die while the women and minorities get preferences.
It could get so bad that the government would tout “salvation trophies.” The world has seen such things before.
Had to read beyond the headline to see if they meant for ObamaCare, or to punish those who insult the Prophet.
Only the ordinary pee-ons will be sent to the undertaker through the death panels. The liberal elite has a gold-plated health plan that will protect their sorry a$$e$.
It’s capitalism vs socialism.
An insurance co won’t do death panels because it’s bad business.
The government won’t care. Won’t need to - no competition.
The leaders will have capitalist insurance - already they are exempt, as are muslims, for religious reasone
According to statistics put out by the HHS, life expectancy for white males increased by 1.2 years during the time George W. Bush was President, but increased by 2.7 years for black males. I'm sure the New York Times could spin that as yet more evidence of racism by the Bush administration.
Well then just pass the law that will allow murder for justifiable cause!
We need death panels.
Sure we do, but not to target the elderly patients. Targeting the MSM, libs, democrats, corrupt politicians and the rest of the traitors to this country would be money well spent.
Wait, it’s World Net Daily so there has to be an automatic dismissal /s
That being said I DO hate WND’s pages loaded with cookies and ads that swamp your browser.
Georgie learned well from HITLER!
And the exact same people who screamed to keep Abortion decisions as a private matter between “a woman and her doctor” also demanded that government invade and take over their doctor offices for every other aspect of out lives.
I am the “death panel” in my house. If you doubt me, come through my front door uninvited. (back door, too)

.wonder if the numerous undeserving, scamming, entitlements recipients would then embrace death panels???
And from the undertaker, on to the Soylent Corporation.
Can't let a resource base go to waste.
But only for those who are 55 and under now, after they retire?
And don't forget, it's the same as the Limbaugh Dismissal, so it means that not only is it all lies, it's still lies if nobody says anything but only thinks it, plus, it was lies retroactively from the beginning of the Universe.
A man's got to know his epistemic limitations.
Oh, wait -- that was Clint Eastwood, wasn't it? We'll, he lies, too, ever since the Republican convention, and presumably retroactively as well. Down the Memory Hole with Clint!
Is this the brother of Ellen the Rat on Fox news?
Like Strelnikov, in Dr. Zhivago -- they'll give them armored trains and three or four firing squads per train; and the panel members will all get to wear kewl long black leather coats and wire-rimmed glasses and that True Believer/Children of the Corn faraway look.
Oh, hell no! Not with seniors voting disproportionately Republican! Gotta start in on them right now!
As long as we dont require voter ID the Death Panels might work. Make it easier to cut Medicare too.
They could try the Soylent Green idea, ‘Going home....cool movie...then lights go out...””
My personal answer to government death panels can be found in the George C. Scott movie “Rage.” Enough is Enough.
My foot and if they do want them. Let’s begin with those who vote for them. This is America a d will never happen. There are too many good people in this country and too many below ground to EVER even begin to imagine anything like this in this country. Oh no. NEVER!!!
