Obama Advisor Admits "We Need Death Panels"

A top Democrat strategist and donor who served as President Obama’s lead auto-industry adviser recently conceded that the rationing of heath services under Obamacare is “inevitable.”

Steven Rattner advocated that such rationing should target elderly patients, while stating, “We need death panels.”

Rattner serves on the board the New America Foundation, or NAF, a George Soros-funded think tank that was instrumental in supporting Obamacare in 2010. Soros’ son, financier Jonathan Soros, is also a member of the foundation’s board.

Rattner was the so-called “car czar,” the lead auto adviser to the Treasury Department under Obama.

Last month, Rattner penned an opinion piece in the New York Times titled “Beyond Obamacare” in which he proclaimed “We need death panels” and argued rationing must be instructed to sustain Obama’s health-care plan. His comments have been virtually ignored by traditional media as the president campaign’s for a second term.

“We need death panels,” began Rattner. “Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health-care resources more prudently – rationing, by its proper name – the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.”

In a free county, you make your own decisions. In a slave state, you don't.

Whether it is insurance companies or the gov, there comes a point when they are not going to throw good money after bad.

And given a centrally managed government model, he’s correct.

But you can sue an insurance company if they don’t provide what they promised.

Exactly. You still have the right to contract. You won’t get that with the government.

Do you trust the government with your life? With insurance companies, you have an idea what the limits are if you read the policy; you have the freedom to accept, shop for another company or do without. With the government in control, you will have no options.

I predict that the death panels will use affirmative action in their selection process. White males will die while the women and minorities get preferences.

It could get so bad that the government would tout “salvation trophies.” The world has seen such things before.

Had to read beyond the headline to see if they meant for ObamaCare, or to punish those who insult the Prophet.

Only the ordinary pee-ons will be sent to the undertaker through the death panels. The liberal elite has a gold-plated health plan that will protect their sorry a$$e$.

It’s capitalism vs socialism.

An insurance co won’t do death panels because it’s bad business.

The government won’t care. Won’t need to - no competition.

The leaders will have capitalist insurance - already they are exempt, as are muslims, for religious reasone

Whites have a longer life expectancy than blacks in this country, so applying affirmative action would just be "fairness."

According to statistics put out by the HHS, life expectancy for white males increased by 1.2 years during the time George W. Bush was President, but increased by 2.7 years for black males. I'm sure the New York Times could spin that as yet more evidence of racism by the Bush administration.

“We need death panels.”

Sure we do, but not to target the elderly patients. Targeting the MSM, libs, democrats, corrupt politicians and the rest of the traitors to this country would be money well spent.
