Did the White House order a cover-up over the murder of Libya's US Ambassador?
Telegraph - UK ^ | October 2, 2012 | Con Coughlin

Posted on 10/02/2012 11:52:31 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Immediately after the murder of Chris Stevens, America's Ambassador to Libya,I suggested that the assault on the US consulate in Benghazi on September 11 could have profound consequences for President Barack Obama, particulary if he failed to take appropriate action against the murderers–the most likely candidates being members of al-Qaeda's new terror franchise in Mali.

But with the US presidential contest entering its critical final phase, the Obama administration deftly avoided getting into any controversy over the murder of Mr Stevens and three other members of the consulate staff by leading everyone to believe the murders were not part of an al-Qaeda plot, but the result of an outbreak of violence caused by a blaphemous film clip. This was certainly the line advanced by Dr Susan Rice, the American Ambassador to the United Nations, and a close confidante of Mr Obama.

[snip]

But the real smoking gun is whether the Obama administration was warned in advance that al-Qaeda was planning an attack. A number of Israeli newspapers have suggested that Washington was warned as early as September 4–a week earlier–that the environment in Benghazi was becoming increasingly hostile and anti-American,while in London the Foreign Office took the decision to withdraw all its consular staff from Benghazi two months before the murders. This decision was based on an intelligence assessment made by MI6 that al-Qaeda was openly operating in the area following a failed assassination attempt on Sir Dominic Asquith, Britain's ambassador to Libya,in June.

It is well known that British intelligence works closely with its counterpart in America, and if MI6 knew al-Qaeda was operating in the Benghazi region, then it is highly likely that the CIA did too.

Suddenly the Administration's "it's nothing to do with us, guv,"defence is starting to look rather thin, with potentially disastrous consequences for Mr Obama's re-election prospects.

The White House crowd of felon/cretins didn’t have to order anything.

If it’s a lie, if it’s crooked, if it’s illegal, sleezy, and would result in you or I being sent to prison, it’s SOP for the clowns of Washington.

Some say Stevens was CIA. He was sent to Libya to try to retrieve US supplied weapons (including surface to air missiles).

It is foolish, even for the mulatto bastard, to "order" anything.

I think the conversation was something like;

"Mr President, we've got trouble, our ambassador has been killed by terrorists in Libya"

OK,.. thanks"

And everybody just ... stepped away.

The COVERUP was by the hated MSM which works
against the American people.

The murder was probably PLANNED as the October

Hillary Clinton should have been dismissed as Secretary of State by now. President Obama’s failure to dismiss her proves that he condones incompetence. Failing to address and correct incompetence displays a lack of management and leadership in this President that is appalling. It would tend to indicate that incompetence is rampant in this administration and that Hillary Clinton cannot be corrected for fear that she would expose much of the other incompetence and cause this administration to come crashing down.

She’s cold as ice ... I think you’d have to have a conscience to be having a nervous breakdown. She’s keeping her head down trying to make it until the next administration (O or Romney). She has previously stated she won’t be doing a second SOS term ... she wants to be able to just leave, not be forced to resign which would have implications if she decides to run for anything in the future. She tried hard to keep a low profile and get through a term as SOS (thus bolstering her foreign policy street cred) but she didn’t quite make it. The whole thing is blowing up, especially now that it’s out that “someone” turned down additional security. The Secretary of State is responsible for security & her signature is on the ROE for Libya. Maybe O/Jarrett told her to deny security, but she did that at her own peril & now it’s biting her in the butt.

Do you suppose Stevens et al were ready to blow the whistle on the Al Qaeda danger and this was an inside hit? Too much tinfoil. You KNOW there were 20-30 other CIA whisked to safety the night Stevens died. Who are they? Get hold of them and put them under oath. Reported here on FR.

Today a former military guy called to Rush, saying he thought there was NO military in Benghazi to protect Stevens as bammy would NOT want to risk having any military people DIE in Libya - hence this whole thing went south. If this doesn't smell like Valerie Jarrett, I don't know what does. Take no risk - don't go after OBL - we might fail and they'd blame us. THIS is exactly the same thing.

This is a much bigger cover up than originally thought. WHERE is Romney? He should be all over this like flies on #####!

My step-brother is about to be appointed Ambassador to Peru, which I don’t mind admitting scares the crap out of me. He’s a great guy and I’d hate to have to go and kill them all if anything happened to him. :)

Seriously though, anyone have any thoughts on Peru to share? My gut feeling is that we never seem to hear much out of them, so probably okay. Appreciate any insight you may have.

“..........In Peru, the problem is not one-party dominance but a generalized weakness among all political parties. The result is a highly volatile political landscape, with parties generally defined by individual personalities rather than strong institutional underpinnings.

The 2011 presidential election saw five first-round candidates – three of whom were moderates embodying the country’s Peru’s political establishment. These candidates – Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, a former prime minister; former Lima mayor Luis Castaneda; and former president Alejandro Toledo – all competed for similar swaths of the electorate and split about half of the first round votes. This allowed Ollanta Humala, a former general whose 2006 campaign advocated a Chavez-style shake-up of Peru’s economic model, and Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former authoritarian dictator Alberto Fujimori, to move on to the second round.

With a consolidated party system, the preferences of Peruvian voters would be more closely reflected in election outcomes. The result for Humala, who has proven in office to be more pragmatic than his campaign suggested, has been troubled relations with the legislature and a spate of cabinet shuffles.

A properly functioning democratic system requires strong parties to articulate the interests of different groups in the formal political process. Venezuela, in what might be the biggest surprise in a year of watershed elections in Latin America, has shown us why.”

Obama wasn’t as lucky as Clinton was with TWA 800 though. If that had happened today, there would’ve been eleven video versions of the Iranian missile’s ascent and detonation on the net within hours.

Hillary needs to pay the piper on this one, but will likely skate through relatively unscathed after the election no matter which way it goes. Shame cuz she needs to hang for this one.

Obama will pay in November for this and all his other crimes of ommission/commission against the American people.

Now if only some of the US-supplied weapons in Benghazi will turn out to have come via Mexico from the Fast and Furious program.

Obama & Company probably figure that if a "smoking gun" is uncovered before the election, only the foreign media will report it. Or he will drop some bombs on some target to look Presidential, like Clinton used to do.

I look at this two ways.

First, Obama could have used this to spike the OBL ball even more. He could have come out swinging on this and looking like a real leader. Imagine his response having been ...America was attacked in Libya today by al-queda. While we did go get OBL, we are still facing a deadly enemy and like OBL they will be tracked down and brought to justice....like the hit on OBL and the other drone strikes. This could have made him look tough and strong.

He didn't play it that way....why? His world view? Or the whole regime looks like a bunch of highschool kids who got caught smokin’ weed in the boy's room.

I also think, unlike many here, Obama is no fool, not uneducated, and is accomplishing everything he set out to do. It is just we don't want what he does. So we discredit him or his intelligence..when he is actually pretty smart, if you realize what his endgame is.

So for me to make the leap that Obama had this Ambassador taken out either by our own security officers/teams/marines/cia or by paying off terrorists to do it ...would not surprise me.

It is this bumbling rhetoric that has everyone looking at the lie, instead of looking FOR the truth. Hitler learned early on about ‘how to lie to the masses.’ Tell enough little ones ...people will discount them ...as they often tell little lies...therefore...when you tell a big lie it will be overlooked too because they think it another of the little lies.

So in this case what they used as the ‘lie,’ has ignited the middle east in rage. They did not need to lie. They could have simply said it was under investigation. BUT...they could not say that as they knew there would be no investigation either. So ...they needed another lie. What embassy got attacked yet today? All based on 0bama’s little lie about an assassinated ambassador in Libya. It is not just about how badly this was handled as to collapse the Middle East foreign policy, it isn't even the lie that is so troublesome.

My Peruvian experience is limited to an hour or so at Lima’s airport in the 80s. I’ve known a lot of people who’ve worked there and for a while, it was pretty hairy, what with the Maoist Shining Path guerrillas. By all accounts, it’s more or less settled down now, and would probably be a pretty good tour of duty.

I agree with you. He is intelligent and has an evil agenda, just like Herr Hitler.

Perhaps turning a blind eye and therefore allowing the ambassador's murder was some kind of "payment due" in Muslim money.

interesting turn of events unraveling today / tonight, isn’t it? CIA fingerprints all over this.

I still maintain Valerie Jarret is in this up to her earlobes. Also this is starting to make sense that she has 24/7 secret service now. She is a nobody - but she obviously is in danger with all the CIA connections.

One more question. Why is David Patreaus at the helm of the CIA? What part is he in all this? He is a good man. Blackmailed somehow? Will they dump this on him?
