I cannot think of a single black owned business anywhere around here

There's one around here where the guy makes and peddles pies - - execrable pies.

There was also one of those in New orleans, but the name escapes me now darn it, but the pies were excellent. There would be a dude on the ferry across the Mississippi River selling mini pies for 2$ each. Sweet potato and pumpkin pies were just awesome.

There was also Rim City World and a number of bars.

But not one around here in Northwest Fla, not one I can think of or that stands out or anything.

There’s a black dude who stands on the corner about a mile from my house, on a busy street, rain or shine, cold or burning hot - playing his guitar, singing and dancing. He has no collection hat, no sign asking fir money. If you talk to him, he says he’s taking responsibility for his own happiness and doesn’t need anything except what God sees fit to give him. He’s probably 70 years old or so.

This old boy probably has more money than Carter has pills. Stand there for 15 minutes talking to him - I’ve seen him take well over 100 dollars from well wishers and passers by.

Friendly as the day is long. A smile and “God bless” for everyone.
