HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania - One of the toughest of a new wave of U.S. state laws requiring voters to show photo identification to cast ballots was put on hold Tuesday, as a judge postponed Pennsylvania's controversial voter ID law in a decision that could help President Barack Obama in a key battleground state.

Pennsylvania's 6-month-old law has sparked a divisive debate over voting rights ahead of the presidential election. About a dozen primarily Republican-controlled states have toughened voter ID laws since the 2008 presidential election. But states with the toughest rules going into effect including Kansas and Tennessee aren't battleground states, making their impact on the presidential election unclear.

this is the legacy of liberal judges and all you gotta do is file in their court.

tis is the left’s fallback strategy when they are kicked out of power via elections and the citizenry.

“tough” and “contreversial” used to describe a law that requires no larger burden than to buy cigarettes or beer.

Bias? What bias?

I don’t think this law would have cut out voter fraud in PA.

As an example...

There are precincts in Philadelphia where 100% happens every election. Someone who witnessed this at one particular precinct said that at the end of the day, the poll workers looked at the list of those who didn’t vote that day and took turns going through the line as that person and voting under their name.

For voter fraud to be eliminated, there has to be much larger changes than showing ID, when the poll workers commit fraud willingly.

Yes a real “tough” requirement to show a photo ID. The news media just plain sucks.

The federal court has spoken, the precedent is in place, a photo id is no longer required to: board an aircraft, buy liquor, cash a check, drive a car, carry a weapon, etc. The judge said so!

As a PA poll watcher, I'm sick to my stomach and have lost faith in our system.

The %$#&@#$ cowards that are our pubbie reps in the state.

We had a chance to change our electoral college distribution that would have negated the effect of most of the voter fraud and limited the rewards only to the districts around the big cities {philly and pburg}, but the polis chickened out.

I'm so pissed that if I had one of them near by I'd be in jail in the morning.

Why is it so easy for liberals to shop for a compliant judge who will do what they want? Conservatives seem to hardly ever find a sympathetic judge.
