I encourage all FReepers to support Todd Akin, a TRUE conservative, for Senate. Donate if you can; volunteer if you can. Let’s all work toward a Republican led Senate with a CONSERVATIVE dominated Republican caucus!

Put some money in RNC

They called me for a donation today... I told them no, I choose to give directly to the candidates.

The gal pressed the matter, and I said I didn't want to give money to the RNC since I wouldn't have a say in what candidates they chose to give support to (hint: Akin.)

She got a bit huffy, but finally gave up.

I also didn't like that they disguise their phone number. It shows up as all zeros on my caller ID.

Great news. How HUMILIATING for liberals if they lose this race. Imagine if Romney takes it by 5 points, Akin wins, we gain in the House, take the Senate, Tingle shoots himself. Sweet victory!

From: Todd Akin
Subject: Get Bent

Dear RNC,

So, now that your pity party cocktails have been consumed, and the Cuban cigars are about to be lit, let me tell you that politics is a strange creature this side of the Galaxy.

Counted me out eh? Oh have the tables turned like a worm.

You said you owe me nothing? Well, I OWE YOU NOTHING.

Just remember that when it comes to the key votes. Hope you got your checkbooks ready. My tastes have suddenly turned, like trophy wife, expensive.

In closing...BITE ME YOU NOBS!!!

Signed
Todd Akin

PS: Hey Mitt, payback’s a bitch.

You’re smart to control your own donations. If the lady calls back, tell her you need her Visa number (for security reasons). That’ll get rid of her.

And, don’t let her try to tell you that your request is out of line. She would be very comfortable taking your Visa number.

These people are like vultures. Make direct donations.

The polls are trending towards Akin which is a very good sign. He may very well pull this thing out. If so he can tell the GOPe to take a hike.

Well I’m a genuine conservative and I was hoping Akin would drop out. I stand ready to admit I was wrong and stupid for doing so. I would dearly love to be proven wrong and see him win. If I lived in Missouri I would certainly vote for him.

I saw Gov Christie on one of the morning shows Sunday and he said (in a smug, self righteous manner) that the party shouldn’t support Akin and and that he personally doesn’t. It really sounded like Christie would rather McCaskill be reelected than have Akin in the Senate.

Don’t forget that NEWT was down there a week ago campaigning for Aikin. He was great on Greta. She asked him: “Why on earth would you be down there campaigning for someone who talked about ‘legitimate rape.’”

Newt let loose as only he can, culminating with something very close to: “I balance 6 seconds of a stupid statement he has apologized for against the prospect of 6 more years of a far left ideologue and it wasn’t a close call.”

Man, I wish we had more like Newt. Hell, I’d settle for just ONE more.

Hank

I thought our best chance to defeat McCaskill was if Akin would withdraw. Since he didn’t and no one has offered any options, we are “all-in” with him. I sent a contribution today.

Romney was forced on us too, but is now the only hope of removing Obama. Today I sent him a donation also.

We have to make “lemonade” if we can.

they have a “my lying eyes” moment

frequently despite all our self congragulation

too many freepers are just plain stupid or uninformed looking to get their correct answer from the mob and mean...mean as snakes actually

too many here relish kicking folks who are down and piling on

the underbelly...always been here

I admire what Christie has done in New Jersey, but, whether he realizes it or not, he has made the same mistake that Aiken did on numerous occasions. He does not always think before he speaks and has put his foot in his mouth many times! Aiken's comment was just so much easier to ridicule, even though Aiken was stating an opinion that at one time had some support. His comment also involved something that played into the so-called Republican "war on women".

At the time, I thought it might be best if he dropped out, especially when it appeared that Claire's people might’ve had a hand in his winning the nomination, but you have to admire his commitment to doing what he thought best for the state of Missouri. It's the people of Missouri who must decide if they want to be represented by a true conservative or if they want to continue to be misrepresented by Claire McCaskill who was a HUGE Obama supporter in 2008. She was elected in 2006 because of her lies about stem cell research (thanks Michael J. Fox). Her people also got a judge to keep the polls open so late in St. Louis that it allowed her to get enough votes to narrowly defeat Jim Talent.

And the week before Rasmussen had McCaskill up by 6. Either way you want to look at it, it’s a very, very close race and may well boil down to money. The latest results came out after the deadline for Akin withdrawing and after McCaskill started an ad blitz. Does that indicate a shift towards her and the ads are working? Who knows? Polls over the next few weeks should tell.

If she is down to 45 her high water mark has already been reached because she was at 49 a while ago. She is the incumbent and she is at 45 in October = this is almost over. Send Todd something at: Akin.org (I think).

Yep, that would be the party establishment attitude. The Party-E boys like to have their nails manicured and hobnob with the Beltway glitterati. Yokels from the hinterlands offend them much more than leftists. I bet there are a bunch of Republican party hacks who are praying that ObamaClair defeats Akin (Rove included).

Look newbie! we are fighting to elect a conservative to the senate and to beat a full blown leftwing liberal. YOU have been consistent in undermining everything and anything positive about Akin.
Fact that Akin’s poll numbers are moving up doesn’t require rose colored glasses. Fact that big names are campaigning and fundraising for him does not require rose colored glasses. I know you will cry if he wins but he may very well do just that..
