Don’t forget 90% of FReepers threw him under the bus. Some of us stood with him.

Pray for America

Thanks for the ping, Joe. The RNC called me Friday - I advised that I was contributing directly to Akin for Senate since he was getting no support from the RNC. I’m guessing she has heard that explanation before.

Thanks for the good news on Akin. I have MORE respect for him than almost anyone in DC. I am waiting for news on the Coburn, Demint, Inhofe fundraiser for Akin and OH...did you know that Rick Perry also endorsed Todd?
We have been battling the establishment and the dems like hell and it will continue until Nov. 6th. Praying he wins.

Well I’m a genuine conservative and I was hoping Akin would drop out. I stand ready to admit I was wrong and stupid for doing so. I would dearly love to be proven wrong and see him win. If I lived in Missouri I would certainly vote for him.

I saw Gov Christie on one of the morning shows Sunday and he said (in a smug, self righteous manner) that the party shouldn’t support Akin and and that he personally doesn’t. It really sounded like Christie would rather McCaskill be reelected than have Akin in the Senate.

You do realize that EVERYBODY (except kids who volunteer for their colleges or NRP) who calls you for donations are private company mercenaries who take a percentage? It is simply their business. They couldn’t care less about the charity or political party that hired them.

Yeah, most here were throwing him under the bus bigtime, which was the sole reason I decided to transform my lurker status and get an account and post some support for Akin.

Think how far he would be up if he had money to run campaign commercials.

I’m starting to admire Aikin’s intestinal fortitude.... The establishment says, “get out” and Aikin says — No!

Atta boy!

Don’t forget that NEWT was down there a week ago campaigning for Aikin. He was great on Greta. She asked him: “Why on earth would you be down there campaigning for someone who talked about ‘legitimate rape.’”

Newt let loose as only he can, culminating with something very close to: “I balance 6 seconds of a stupid statement he has apologized for against the prospect of 6 more years of a far left ideologue and it wasn’t a close call.”

Man, I wish we had more like Newt. Hell, I’d settle for just ONE more.

Hank

I thought our best chance to defeat McCaskill was if Akin would withdraw. Since he didn’t and no one has offered any options, we are “all-in” with him. I sent a contribution today.

Romney was forced on us too, but is now the only hope of removing Obama. Today I sent him a donation also.

We have to make “lemonade” if we can.

I haven’t forgotten but some of them have...even when I paste their remarks

they have a “my lying eyes” moment

frequently despite all our self congragulation

too many freepers are just plain stupid or uninformed looking to get their correct answer from the mob and mean...mean as snakes actually

too many here relish kicking folks who are down and piling on

the underbelly...always been here

I admire what Christie has done in New Jersey, but, whether he realizes it or not, he has made the same mistake that Aiken did on numerous occasions. He does not always think before he speaks and has put his foot in his mouth many times! Aiken's comment was just so much easier to ridicule, even though Aiken was stating an opinion that at one time had some support. His comment also involved something that played into the so-called Republican "war on women".

At the time, I thought it might be best if he dropped out, especially when it appeared that Claire's people might’ve had a hand in his winning the nomination, but you have to admire his commitment to doing what he thought best for the state of Missouri. It's the people of Missouri who must decide if they want to be represented by a true conservative or if they want to continue to be misrepresented by Claire McCaskill who was a HUGE Obama supporter in 2008. She was elected in 2006 because of her lies about stem cell research (thanks Michael J. Fox). Her people also got a judge to keep the polls open so late in St. Louis that it allowed her to get enough votes to narrowly defeat Jim Talent.

Aetius, you must remember that an East or West coast Conservative is a liberal in flyover country. We see through them.

And the week before Rasmussen had McCaskill up by 6. Either way you want to look at it, it’s a very, very close race and may well boil down to money. The latest results came out after the deadline for Akin withdrawing and after McCaskill started an ad blitz. Does that indicate a shift towards her and the ads are working? Who knows? Polls over the next few weeks should tell.
