Is that because its black mayor and police failed the chocolate city?

I remember when rescue teams were coming in from other states they had to wait a day and take a course on political correctness on dealing with the citizens of the city.

Yes, but the city was totally under water. There were volunteers with boats lined up on Airline Hwy. leading into the city waiting for the OK to go in. People came from all over - black, white, brown came to help. And, when the water receded, we volunteered to help the Red Cross at our airport. Every person who drove through the lines were given $250 with the maximum 5 people to a car. Well, guess what, EVERY car coming through had 5 people! Most of those complaining of no one helping got $1,250 per car load and that was just the beginning. No question there were screw ups thanks to the Mayor and the LA Govenor. But, that wasn’t the main focus of the socialist media. It seemed that all the focus was on the 9th Ward and the Superdome even though everyone was under water. President Bush flew over because There was no place to land. I don’t mean to be so long winded but NOLA was given a lot of help but with all the devistation how much is enough. Now, my insurance doubled from last year - $4,300 per year (that’s a lot of moola for me). They say it is from Katrina - not to many insurance companies want to write here. So, I guess you can say, we are still feeling the aftermath and will continue to do so one way or another for a long time.
