Gibbs: Obama believes Katrina response failures were ‘colorblind’

Senior Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs dismissed claims from conservative media outlets that the president believed the botched federal response to Hurricane Katrina was influenced by race.

In an interview with "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday, Gibbs was asked about a video of then-Illinois Sen. Obama delivering a speech in 2007 in which he discussed the anger many African-Americans affected by the 2005 storm’s devastation felt at Washington’s mishandled relief efforts.

“The president says the incompetence surrounding the federal government’s response to Katrina in 2005 was colorblind,” said Gibbs. “If the Republicans want to defend the Bush administration’s response to Katrina, I’m sure the president would give them ample time during the debate to do that.”

Hey Bobbie, if things were so good in NOLA before the storm, why haven’t all the refugees returned? It is still a he** hole.

They got better deals elsewhere.

Arizona has Section 8ers being brought in and put in million dollar repossession houses.

The feds also target high income areas for Section 8 apartment housing to bust the block. Area in my city was upscale / low crime. After a lawsuit (fed court) to fight it, the Section 8 housing went in. Foot traffic, trash strewn everywhere, an argument with a landlord that led to arson, etc. All compliments of tax dollars.

"Color-blind". "Institutional racism". Blah blah blah. Same- same! Katrina. Fast and Furious. Hey, let's not bicker and argue over who killed who. Re-electing Obama should be a happy occasion! Who you gonna believe? Me or your lyin' eyes? Jay "Isuzu" Carney

Is there a fund going to buy a Guide Dog for Gibbs?

He is totally blind to anything Obama does......

What a waste of an ‘education’. Gibbs should be ashamed.
