October Surprise: Obama Plans Major Airstrike on Libyan Targets
Breitbart ^ | 10/3/12 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 10/03/2012 4:25:46 PM PDT by Evil Slayer

Today, a Defense Department official confirmed to Breitbart News that there is advance planning for a “substantial air package” against targets in Libya. Military sources suggest that this means that flight missions against Libyan targets will include manned flights, not merely drones.

The New York Times reported yesterday that the Obama administration is preparing an operation to “kill or capture militants” involved in the Benghazi attack resulting in the murder of our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. According to the Times, the Joint Special Operations Command is putting together “so-called target packages of detailed information about the suspects.” These files are a coordinated project with the CIA and the Pentagon.

The Obama administration is under heavy scrutiny for its failure to protect the US consulate in Benghazi, and for its lack of security around the ambassador. Furthermore, the Obama administration is increasingly perceived as weak on terror, particularly in the aftermath of the Arab Spring, which has largely been hijacked by the well-organized Muslim Brotherhood. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify next Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee on the lack of security for the ambassador.

Only a liberal or progressive cannot see that the entire Libya problem is being caused by Obama. He sets up the Embassy attack. Now he can look tough for the election next month.

I hope he does. This is completely tone-deaf and will turn off his base without adding any net voters.
What a clown.

I'd take this more seriously if this was against Iranian targets, especially with Iran just about ready to at least build a gunbarrel-style nuclear bomb with a yield of around 15 kT (Iran has NOT demonstrated they could build an implosion-style bomb given the high precision engineering involved in such a device).

Yeah, well, the State Department had it coming when they fired and sued Black Water for defending them by killing “civilians” in Iraq that one time.

A dollar short and a day late at least, shall we say.

Screw them all.

AYE!!!!

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if some type of operatives were used to "seed" the situation.

I could be wrong, and often am. But I thought FBI was mainly domestic investigations, while CIA was more foreign.

I was under the impression that intelligence knew of the concentration of al-queda members in the Benghazi area prior to the attack.

We should. They were part of the coalition we backed to overthrow Khadafi. So, we do know these people.

That's what we've been led to believe, but if you check out this webpage, they deal with other overseas crimes like espionage, as well as international terrorism, etc.:

I would love to be in on Jarrett’s discussions with -bama right now... since she apparently has major sway on all military operations... I bet that her top concern is the exact day to do the strike in order to get the maximum voting benefit before the anti-war shrieks overtake the “patriotic” swelling of heads.

Needs to be done. It will be seen as election grandstanding if he does it but it still needs to be done. If he fails to get the baddies that will rightfully be laid at O and Hillary’s feet. Its already an issue, rightfully so, that the ambassador was sent to his death without security, and its an issue that we were supporting the people who ultimately murdered him. Leaving his murder unanswered is unthinkable election or no. November can’t come soon enough for me.

I love drones and our military in the air and on the ground. They are great killing machines. However, AlQueda is not a person or a small group. It is a concept of war and Jihad. You can kill it leaders and new leaders will spring from the ground like weeds in the spring. Weeds do not grow if the ground and rain and nutrients are not there for them to use and grow.

The way to defeat AlQueda and the Taliban is to remove the source of sustenance and shelter. The countries, individuals and institutions that give aid and shelter to these organizations are the fertile ground, rain and nutrients of these terrorists.

Killing the terrostists is good, but will not end the terror. Killing the terrorists and destroying their fertile ground will stop the problem.

This is not an easy task. One must be prepared to kill, destroy and wreck havoc on those that commit terror and those that sponsor it with aid, comfort, finance and a safe haven. At the same time we must welcome and aid those in belligerent countries that do not support the belligerent acts against us.

I think it was Freeper River Rat that said, "if you are not willing to kill your enemy and all that stand with him, surrender for he has already defeated you." River Rat describes the reality of conflict. It is not pretty.

What I think happened is that Kadaffy was allowed taken out so they could get his money,

I have a feeling Ambassador Stevens had info on how much money Libya had and was working as liasion with the new government to keep track of it,

I think Amb Stevens was taken out by the terrorist soldier of fortune that Holder released from Gitmo to clean things up

Now they need to clean up that little mess and thats what this is about [/plausible consipracy theory]

I cannot see it. There is no way he or anyone else planned this debacle. Even CNN has turned against him and it is sying there is a “cover-up.”

More likely than ever now after The Kenyan's dismal performance last night.

All three remaining debates have therefore been cancelled."

Too little and too late, unless the MSM blows it up into a "look at the warrior Bambi". That will be easily refuted.

The 3:00am call came for the protection of our sovereign consulate and Bambi went to sleep to party with Beyonce and JazzyJ (whatever his punk name) the next day. Next night (or 2 later) was his appearance on Letterman and then he flew to Vegas (which he said we shouldn't support).
MUST CAMPAIGN; MUST CAMPAIGN; MUST CAMPAIGN - got golf?

All while his flying monkeys watched our Ambassador Stevens being dragged through the streets after requesting increased security while Obama, Hillary, and others said it was result of a stupid little video trailer. This obvious attempted cover-up of Islamists' planned and precise attack will bite him before this election season is over. I predict that it will be covered in the foreign policy debate if Romney has the cojones that he showed last night.

When Bambi says HE killed Osama bin laden, I hope Romney points out the countless intel agencies over the years who finally found him, and that Bambi had NO choice but order the kill. Of course he had to be pulled of the golf course for such a top-down executive decision, when the operators in country should have just killed the monster.

The boy is going down. Social media is over-coming his lock with the alphabet channels and newsprint is dead.
