Skip to comments.Dem Debate Meltdown: Obama Surrogate Refers To 'President Romney'
Posted on 10/03/2012 8:41:56 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest
How utter was Mitt Romney's rout of Barack Obama tonight? In the post-debate spin room, a hopelessly muddled Martin O'Malley, Dem guv from Maryland and supposedly an Obama surrogate, wound up referring to "President Romney"!
For good measure, pressed by MSNBC's Larry O'Donnellclearly dismayed by Obama's dismal performanceto suggest what he'd recommend the prez do differently next time, a demoralized O'Malley could only mutter "uh, I don't know."

Hilarious Freudian slip as Obama surrogate in spin room speaks of “President Romney.” Ping to Today show list.
Why are they depressed?
They’ll get a liberal President all the same. Our left-wing media knows this. Why don’t the Democrats?
Romney looked presidential. The guy we need in charge.
Romney kicked down the door of Obama’s house of cards and it all collapsed
Two losers, O’Malley and Larry...
Romney did all he needed to tonight.
Ryan will cream Biden and the damage may be irreversible after that.
If Romney holds his own in the rest of his debates, he’s won, and likely by a wide margin.
What is it called when in sports someone or a team intentionally loses the game ?
Looks like Martin O’Malley is getting in airtime or a photo op for his Presidential run for President in 2016.
Of course, we know Obama doesn’t have much of a positive record to run on.
I kept getting the impression that Obama acted like he was running against President Romney. Obama was on the defensive, but he didn’t seem to have much ammunition against Romney.
Romney looked presidential. The guy we need in charge.
We know what we are getting with Romney. At the same time, we know what we are NOT getting with Obama if he’s not reelected.
Face it, this isn’t liberal v. liberal, it’s liberal v. megalomaniac.
O’Malley scored an OWN GOAL.
Comments to an article critical of the moderator...
Right on schedule, the Obama team blames someone else.
Michelle Malkin tweeted earlier she thought liberals would blame Lehrer. And she was right. Is team Obama capable of ever admitted they might have been wrong?
Barry got his ass kicked.
Trashing Lehrer because Obama stank is juvenile. Lehrer asked the questions and allowed Obama four more minutes than Mitt. Other news anchors might have interjected more only because they always want to grab the stage. This was about the two candidates, which is as it should be.
I was certain they would blame Bush for Obama’s poor performance at the debate. BTW, Obama spoke for about 4 mins longer than Romney according to CNN.
Obama appeared to be running for a Governorship not President. Teachers are a state issue.
Lehrer set a new standard tonite, let the guys talk. If either one had a problem with it they sure didn’t speak up.
Obama does a poor job as usual, but it’s someone else’s fault...as usual.
What a beautiful night. I didn’t watch the debate. I just prayed for God to ruin it for Obama, and then I got on the web and saw these wonderful stories. When an Obama underling criticizes the notorious leftist moderator Jim Lehrer, you KNOW Romney won!
Go ahead! Blame Lehrer. That’s all Obama and his henchmen know what to do - blame somebody else for his failed presidency.
Lehrer did everything to help Oblome except leap to the podium and speak instructions in his ear.
Poor Barry, no teleprompter, no softball questions and totally exposed.
The Teleprompter of The United States finally had a night off and was laughing in the green room watching the debate.
You know how you know which side and how bad they lost the debate? They attack the moderator! This was one of the best moderated debates I’ve ever seen!
Out of the three of them Romney was the leader.
It will take God and Romney to turn this mess around. I don’t think God will even be able to help if MR 57 States is re-elected.
I actually thought Jim Lehrer did the job he was supposed to do. Not control Romney and help Obama which seems is what the press wanted him to do.
CNN reports Obama spoke for 45 mins and Romney spoke for 38 minutes, so maybe it’s WHAT was SAID that mattered.
Romney was amazing! He looked like he was really enjoying himself. I’m amazed at the depth of knowledge he has. The man knows his stuff re the economy! He was aggressive without being condecending, something Obama is incapable of doing.
A good night for America.
Romney did great tonight. He showed people who he really is and not what the media says he is. Obamster was p ‘d off and looked weak. I don’t know if that was intentional or not, but look for the obama -axelrod - Jarrett complex to come back viscious in the campaign and the next debates. Romney -Ryan needs to be ready. But tonight’s debate was terrific for Romney and I ‘m glad someone finally gave some public unfiltered push back to the jackass in the WH.
As Bill Clinton might have said...I don’t think anybody on earth...even me...could have defended Obama’s record in that debate.
There’s some funny stuff at this link. It’s contains several tweets from well known liberals piling on the Kenyan.
""President Obama showed up to have a conversation, Governor Romney showed up with a chainsaw."
Yes, Lehrer was a disgrace. Lehrer didn't need to "speak instructions" in Ubama's ear - - Lehrer simply sat there and prompted him. Not once, but twice Lehrer begged Ubama, "Tell us more about the 'balanced approach' to cutting the deficit."
Best disgruntled expression of 0bama came when Romney turned around and pointed out they were standing in front of words from the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. LOL when Romney said we are endowed by our CREATOR (pause) with certain inalienable rights, then made comments on rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I think Romney was tweaking 0 for always leaving out the word Creator.
Ha, nobody on Team Zero thought to prepare him on our nation’s founding documents. If only he had been a real professor of constitutional law, he might have been able to pluck something to work with out of the memory hole.
Carville is an old-fashioned Democrat. I suspect he is a tad disgusted with the new communist version of his party. My favorite Carville line was when he described Pennsylvania as, “Philadelphia at one end, Pittsburgh at the other end, and Alabama in between.”
Obama didnt speak for four more minutes than Mitt he THOUGHTFULLY PAUSED for four more minutes than Mitt
You’re a regular ray of sunshine.
That was a good one too! lol
I have to admit, Romney looked thoroughly in control of the debate tonight. He appeared cool and unflappable; he had command of the facts and was able to effectively communicate at a laymans level; and he cut a good, energetic appearance. He looked strong and gutsy. I was surprised and impressed.
Obama, on the other hand, looked tired and lifeless, like the whole thing was a drag. He kept looking down, and seemed to be constantly on the defense. Oddly, much of the time Obama positioned himself half-turned away from Romney, and even appeared to lean away at times. Rarely did Obama fully face Romney. It was more like he was looking over his shoulder at Romney. (Maybe this was just a general impression I got from the way the debate was going.) Anyway, there was some weird body language going on there.
Conclusion: It looked to me like Romney blew Obama away in tonights debate.
Gotta luv our guv.
The only thing the Democrat newsrooms care about is flexing their muscles and showing they are still relevant, still powerful enough to fix an election the way they want it to go. They couldn't care less about Ubama or Romney. Those guys are only pieces on the chessboard. The election is all about THEM, the dinosaur Democrat newsrooms and their desperate efforts to prove (mostly to themselves) that they still control the nation's political and cultural course.
Obama had no position to defend. You can’t defend the indefensible. What was he supposed to say, yeah, I want to redistribute the wealth, the healthcare and the opportunity that defines America from the successful to the losers? It just wouldn’t work.
Obama’s body language at the debate was similar to those pictures of Obama meeting with Netanyahu.
I think that Obama didn’t bring up the 47% or other attacks on Romney that he has been making for two reasons, one, he didn’t want to give Romney the opportunity to counter the attacks and thus take them out of circulation and two, he couldn’t back up most of them and knew that he would be hit with, you didn’t build that.
Watched CNN for a while reight after the debate, and Carville was real close to having another “brown bag” moment!
Nope--can't stand that vapid jerk O'Malady.
Did I really need to add a sarcasm tag?
I always avoid unwarranted optimism like the plague.
Its human nature to want to want to put the fear of God in your enemies. Maybe the Left had a taste of it tonight.
The difference between me and Mitt Happens is I see no common ground with them.
I bet Obummer does better in the next debate though, I believe it is a "Townhall" style debate and I guarantee you the audience will be packed with Obama psychophants if the Obama campaign gets its way.
“Why are they depressed?”
The downticket follows the upticket.
Hey, the primary reasons for Romney are
A) He’ll let us keep more of our stuff
B) He’ll let us be better armed
C) As many as 3 SCOTUS bench warmers
Anything else rational or constitutional is frosting on the cake...
I just have one question, who would you have wanted for a Republican candidate?
All those uhhhhs take a lot of time. How much time did zero spend stammering around trying to complete a sentence?
Romney shone--because he lives this stuff.
DBA OBAMA stunk--because he's a demagogue and a self-centered ass.
Lehrer tried to help but kept sinking into the La Brea Tar Pits.
Maryland "Freak State" PING!
