Can anyone save my sanity?

Posted on 10/03/2012 8:49:38 PM PDT by newberger

I came home to watch the debate on Fox News (of course) tonight. Bill O'Reilly was interviewing Dick Morris waiting for the debate to start and when it didn't start on time (so it appeared) he went on to Dennis Miller.

Around 6:12 or 6:13 (West Coast) I decided to take a dew minutes to check which programs I had recorded on my Tivo (max 4 minutes) but when I went back to live TV, the debate was well underway and the Tivo had recorded all the way back to before 6 PM with Meagan Kelly and then the full 15 - 16 minutes of the debate up to that time.

Did anyone else watch the debate on Fox from the West Coast? Is there any kins of technical explanation ??? Maybe a dual news feed?

Help?

" Can anyone save my sanity? "

Ok, Put down that TV and slowly walk away from the TV.

In Los Angeles, during the time that the debate should have aired, CNN kept replaying the episode where Gilligan wins the lottery and joins the exclusive Howell Country Club.

I think there was some editing involved because The Skipper kept talking about Anderson Cooper for some reason.

Can anyone save my sanity?

Possibly. $145 per clinical hour (50 minutes). I accept cash or credit cards.

You had Fox on hold for awhile - you weren’t watching live time.

Possible.

Does anyone know when O’Reilly went off and Megan Kelly started?

I actually started watching shortly before 5:50 but I had just turned on the TV so unless my Tivo screwed something up ???

Fox cut to Brett and Kelly about 8:48.

We had it on two different stations; Fox was about a minute ahead of C-Span. Usually one station will be a just a few words ahead, but this was a much longer delay.

Thanks,

That was only one or two minutes after I started watching.

The best theory is the previous suggestion that the Tivo had paused somehow with an offset sometime before I started. I can’t exactly explain that but it’s the best guess.

I guess I’m not going mad!

Thanks, everyone.

Yes, from 5:48 until 6:15 or so is quite an offset. The Tivo hiccup is my best answer. I think I’ll sleep tonight.

By the way, although I didn’t like one or two of his answers, especially the one about government existing to help us pursue happiness I hope that’s fair), I think Mitt really hit one out of the park.

His biggest winning point is he was likeable but Obama was not.

Do you record O’Reilly?

No, that doesn’t explain it. I’m not a big O’Reilly fan.

I watched Fox news at breeakfast and apparently, no one used the TV / Tivo until I turned it on around 5:50 PM.

Okay, here’s one: Tivo was on all day. You just turned on the TV.

Donna,

Thanks.

I thought of that. The issue could have happened yesterday. Once the Tivo is delayed, you don’t catch up to “real time” until you change channels - which I didn’t do this morning.

Annyywwaayy! . . . I think I can sleep well.

I hope you slept well; me, I'm still a little worried, LOL.

Forgive me. At my house I'm the expert on this topic and I seem to have developed an obsession that I didn't even know about, ha.

Donna,

Now I hope that *you* slept well.

I’m doing fine and we won the debate. Big time.

It was fun to see the liberal bobble-heads on TV in melt-down.
