If last night’s debate was a prizefight, it would have been stopped at 9:25 p.m.
I had a feeling Obama might have a problem when I heard he was using John Kerry as his Mitt Romney stand-in. If that was the best Liveshot could do getting Barack ready for Mitt, he should be fired this morning even before Bobby Valentine gets his walking papers.
Did you notice how Obama kept looking away from Romney? It took a while to figure out who he was looking for, but then I realized — it was TOTUS, his missing TelePrompTer of the United States.
No one should ever use the words “cerebral” and “Barack” in the same sentence ever again. He bragged about cutting taxes $3,600 for middle-class families — “maybe they can buy a new car.”
And they said George H.W. Bush was out of touch!
It wasn’t just that Romney was smart. It was that Barack was revealed as a clueless dolt...

As I just noted on another thread, John Kerry probably just lost his job as debate partner. Moral of that story: all “rich” guys are not equally endowed with smarts.
It wasn’t just that Romney was smart. It was that Barack was revealed as a clueless dolt. Even MSNBC and The New York Times [NYT] won’t be able to put this Humpty Dumpty back together again. There’s only one possible excuse Barack can use today: “George Bush’s dog ate my homework!”

I was looking forward to seeing Obama exposed. It’s the first time he’s had to stand on his own two feet and he got a big fat F. Now most will see him as he really is...a con artist.
Does anyone know about the 47 new agencies and 8 training programs out of the administration? Not sure if I got that right but Romney mentioned it.

Kerry married money. Romney built Bain with smarts but also drive and determination, and discipline in setting and attaining goals. Not exactly the traits that affirmative action programs develop.
I think Romney is not a natural debater, but set a goal to maximize what ability he does have in that area, and did exactly that.
Kerry’s a better debater than Obama, and probably at the level Romney was in the primaries. The improvement in Romney’s skills must have shocked the hell out them.

That “magical” $3,600 in Tax Savings, even if it was true, would disappear really fast considering the amount of miles our Family drives every year.
I was standing there calculating the Federal Gas Tax, State Gas Tax and State Sales Tax I was paying and I figured it comes out to about $1.00 per gallon. Never mind the hidden Taxes being paid to drill, refine, store and transport the product to market.

Remember, POTUS told us not to expect too much from him, that he was not a good debater. For once I would say Obama met and exceeded expectations for a poor performance. I’ll bet Michelle is kicking his butt tonight.
I couldn’t believe Lehrer started off with questions on the economy. I figured they would give that a wiiiiiide berth....or avoid it altogether. I thought he was a good moderator. Stayed pretty much out of the way. I actually enjoyed that debate and not just because Romney would repeat me after I yelled at the tv a few times.

But no, Mitt had him so far off his game that no amount of tricks would have helped. Zer0 was on his own and he wandered around in circles with his answers. He was a man without his teleprompter wandering around in the desert like a man without his horse.

Each debate is to focused on agreed upon topics. Tonight’s topic was the economy. I do not know what the next debate’s topic is, but the third debate will be on ‘foreign policy’.
I was hoping that the Vaudevelle hook would come out and jerk this Presidential imposter off the stage. His ten seconds should have been up long ago.

I think with a lot of focus on how all the selected moderators are known liberal lefties, Lehrer tried his best to not seem all that "leftie". It looks like the Romney people prepared for an all out assault from Zero and Lehrer and forced them both into a tactical retreat. This is a battlefield victory!
