Turkey's parliament authorises military action in Syria
Turkey's parliament has authorised cross-border military action against Syria, if required by the government.
The bill, which was passed 320-129, gives the government authority for one year to send troops into Syria or carry out strikes against Syrian targets.
Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay said the priority was to act in co-ordination with international bodies.
Turkey has been firing at targets inside Syria, in retaliation for the deaths of five civilians.
Two women and three children died in Akcakale or on the Turkey-Syria border in shelling by Syria.
Ankara's response marks the first time it has fired into Syria during the 18-month-long unrest there.

Get out the popcorn!
Pissing off Turkey seems a bit like Hitler invading Russia. Not a smart move.
Russia could engineer a backfire on this tactic.
Which is another way of saying “No way did Syria do this. This was a False Flag operation”.
Zero and the Muslim Brotherhood are in trouble here, because Russia, China and three other (rotating) members of the UN Security Council have (and will continue to) veto UN military action or sanctions on Assad's legitimate government of Syria over the MB "democratic" "rebels".
The US is already in violation of international law by supplying arms to 'em.
The US is close to becoming a criminal nation according to international law, and those NATO members who participate will also be so classified.
Quite a conundrum for the leftie Muslim sycophant internationalists.
So, a NATO country has more or less declared war on Syria.
This could get interesting.
And Barry’s not taking any 3 am calls.
Turkey is not chicken.
Gives Russia an excuse to wup Turkish butt and take the Straits. Go Russia and wup that islamic turkish butt. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised to see some Greeks volunteering to help the Syrians.
