James Carville On CNN: Romney ‘Had A Good Night,’ While Obama ‘Didn’t Want To Be There’

Following tonight’s first presidential debate, liberal pundit James Carville told his fellow CNN panelists that, despite his support for President Barack Obama, he has to admit that it looked like GOP challenger Mitt Romney had a better performance.

“I had one overwhelming impression,” he said. “I did everything I could not to reach it, but it looked like Romney wanted to be there and President Obama didn’t want to be there.”

He continued: “It seemed like Romney was happy to be there. Obama gave me the impression that the whole thing was kind a lot of trouble.”

The former Bill Clinton strategist then admitted he believes Romney “had a good night.”

“I think he wanted to be there,” concluded Carville. “I think he knew he needed this, and I think Obama gave the sense he wasn’t happy to be at this debate.”

If he didn’t want to be there at the beginning, he sure didn’t want to be there at the end.

Both the moderator and Romney had to explain economics 101 to our president....Obama did not have a clue other than to repeat the buzz words he has been allowed to believe...and that in its self is a crime...a president whom no one has corrected his wrongheadedness thinking. Michelle did not appear to be happy.........

Romney ‘Had A Good Night,’ While Obama ‘Didn’t Want To Be There’

The "entitlement" mentality comes through with Obama. He felt that, he was entitled to be re-elected, and showing up was all that was necessary. The people don't see it that way.

I got the impression that Obama not only didn't want to be there (debate) but that he also didn't have the desire to be reelected. Obama appeared to be dejected and to have accepted his demise. The man is under a dark cloud and all is not well.

Nothing quite screams "I'm an idiot!" like your picture next to
a loser, helping to compose an arrogant but inept book title. :-)

“Had a good night” — Yeah, it was just a fluke that Romney managed to speak well and coherently about liberty and economic opportunity arising from free people. Nothing but a “good night.”

It's fun, isn't it?" Romney, a successful businessman, interjected at one point.

The man is under a dark cloud and all is not well.

Under a dark cloud indeed!

Imagine trying to be on your game with this thought in your mind all night.

Michelle before the debate, "Barry, tonight's your lucky night, this anniversary pretend I'm Reggie Love"

That's enough to scare Satan himself!

"If he didn’t want to be there at the beginning, he sure didn’t want to be there at the end. "

Obama gave me the impression that he was expecting his own execution. And he was right.

I think Romney should hit harder on the deficit. Obama is explicitly in favor of increasing the debt.

Darn, I wish I had switch over to see Carville. He is so funny when the dems take a pounding. I remember after one of the elections when he wore the paper bag on his head.
He was so demoralized.

The only way Obama can salvage his campaign is to dismiss Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

RE : If snakehead says the republican won, then the republican won.

You know, we might not like Carville, but give it to him, if he's wrong, he admits it and accepts his defeat with humor...

November 15, 2004 -- James Carville — shocked everyone on "Meet the Press" that morning by smashing a raw egg on his head.

The point?

To dramatize the fact that he had egg on his face after wrongly predicting that Democrat John Kerry was going to win the presidential election.

In 2002, when the Republicans won the midterm elections, Carville again made the wrong predictions and ended up reacting to the results by placing a garbage can over his head.

Mary Matalin must see something in him. Does he make her laugh?
