I doubt this is the reason but if you are coming from near sea level to 5,000 feet you do need at least 24 hours to acclimate.

Even if were the true reason for Obama’s poor performance, it only proves that he and his team aren’t smart enough to think ahead and Romney and his team were.

Let’s say that is true; Obama’s performance was negatively effected by the altitude and conversely, Romney’s was better because he practiced at that altitude... wouldn’t you say advantage to the one who planned accordingly? And isn’t that what we want in a president and not someone who just wings it?

I think commercial aircraft are usually pressurized to around 6,000-8,000 ft, Denver is between 5,000 - 6,000. Considering the excessive amount of time Obama has spent in Airforce One he should be well acclimated to the altitude in Denver.
