Obama camp promises tougher response to Romney in next debate
The Hill ^ | October 4, 2012 | Justin Sink

Reeling from a debate performance where President Obama often seemed listless and subdued relative to his Republican opponent, the Obama campaign's top strategist said Thursday they would more aggressively challenge Mitt Romney on alleged inconsistencies in his policies.

"You know, you can't tell the American people up is down and down is up and ignore your history and ignore your statements," Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said Thursday on MSNBC. "You can't square the circle, and Gov. Romney is going to be held accountable for that."

Axelrod went on to accuse Romney of playing "a shell game" at the debate and said the Republican nominee deserved "an 'F' for being honest with the American people."

In an earlier interview on NBC's "Today Show," Axelrod added that the president was "looking very much forward" to his next chance to debate Romney on Oct. 16.

"I know this, he will come, he will make an honest argument with the American people about how to rebuild the economy and the middle class and he'll hold Gov. Romney to account for these big gaps in the truth we saw last night," Axelrod said.

But Obama's longtime political strategist did seem to concede that the president had been bested, at least on style, in Wednesday night's pivotal showdown with his Republican challenger.

"I joked that Mitt Romney put more preparation into it than they did into the invasion in Normandy and you saw last night," Axelrod said. "I expected a strong performance, got a strong performance, but that's what it was — a performance."

“that's what it was — a performance.”

Wow! Hard to describe the arrogance. If you want to see a performance watch Obama get into “character” in the tape released Monday on Hannity - the Tucker Carlson “find”.

Yeah, same here. That was one of many wildly flailing attempts by Obama to grab a lifeline. It reeked of desperation.

The exact same thing will happen in the next two debates.
The reason? Romney is the real deal. He looked like a college professor schooling a freshman last night and it’s not too hard when the student is an empty shell. Most forget that Hillary Clinton won all the debates with Obamagabe, and my 7 year old granddaughter could have beaten Juan McAmnesty. The Kenyan was exposed for being the fake and fraud that he is and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the last two debates are not cancelled. The attack on Syria will probably commence the morning of the second debate and it’s called off because he’s got to be “commander in chief”. What a joke. But put nothing past these Marxist lunatics that will do anything to hold on to power.

Romney proved in this first debate that no matter how much Obamugabe tries to “up his game” in the next and the last, Romney will deal with him. without a record of achievement, “Upping his game”can only mean attacking Romney personally and lying louder and faster while not looking down or smirking.

Yeah, OZero will be tougher. Instead of wearing Michelle’s panties he’ll have on a pair of big boy undies instead? Please!

Romney will also be tougher because this can only increase his already well-balanced confidence.

If we can keep voting legal, should be a nice Electoral landslide for Mitt. How nice to have a president again because I’ve missed having that in America the last 4 yrs.

Obama will throw a “fag fit” next time, and look even worse.

It’s pretty much a given that Obama will be tougher next time.

How could he give a weaker performance?

Exactly. Obozo can’t get aggressive on policy, because his foreign policy is a disaster. He’s going to hit below the belt and call that being “aggressive”.

Obama: Give me four more years. Why? Because Bill Clinton had a great economy in the 1990s.

Any Republican with a lame argument like that would be ridiculed mercilessly by the MSM. And rightly so.

OMG? His highness kicking a door? Holy cow....where’d you find that and what did he have his panties in a wad all about that time?

I read a while back that as a child in Indonesia his step-dad and mom were rich enough to employ house servants (so much for Michelle’s claim they understand hardship). One former servant who was gracious/brave enough to give an interview stated that Obama got angry when he didn’t follow an “order” correctly and at 9 yrs. old Obama punched him TWICE in the chest for his failure to “obey”. Wow...I see that childish temper is stil well, rooted.

Re: “Candy Crowley to moderate next debate”

Will Michelle Obama lecture the seriously overweight Ms. Crowley about not eating enough fruits and vegetables?

Will Ms. Crowley lecture Mitt Romney about hunger in America?

Bring it. So many people need to go to prison for the things they have done, I’m ready for a Caesar...any Caesar. I don’t care anymore. Really.

This will be interesting. Here we have a malignant narcissist who got totally outclassed in a venue he thought he owned. He's going to stew on that endlessly ‘til the next debate. Meanwhile, his handlers will be pouring advice, criticism, coaching, facts at him like a fire hydrant, trying to straighten him out. It won't work. No amount of last-minute debate prep can fix a guy who simply doesn't understand what he's talking about.

He won't be able to escape the public scorn seeping through the cocoon they keep him in and it will work on him like dripping acid. Speaking of dripping acid, there's the Mooch; she's gonna be all over his butt. She even started before he got off the stage.

His state of mind when he has to step out on the stage again with Romney will be very tenuous. He will have tried to rebuild the mythic bubble around his ego by latching onto every lame excuse proffered but deep inside he'll know that he's not up to the task. We may see something spectacular in the next debate.

That’s right, Obama camp, keep fooling yourself that it was a communications gap that caused last night’s debate performance.

It was a competency gap. Nothing can overcome such a huge competency gap.
