Networks, AP cancel exit polls in 19 states
washington post ^ | 10/4 | cohen and clement

Breaking from two decades of tradition, this year’s election exit poll is set to include surveys of voters in 31 states, not all 50 as it has for the past five presidential elections, according to multiple people involved in the planning.

So, they’re just giving up on the states that even they have to agree are Romney’s...this just gives them more time and people on the ground in contested states to do some before-poll closing ‘push-polls’...

There’s a tidal wave coming, and it ain’t for Obama, at least the kind that will raise his boat.

Watch the networks to overweight their exit polling in the bluest precincts of the bluest states just like they do with their regular phony polls.

Exit polls were debunked in ‘04 when they said Kerry had won the election at 4:00 in the afternoon.

http://www.people-press.org/2012/05/15/assessing-the-representativeness-of-public-opinion-surveys/ ~ even exit polls have their problems ~ one of the big ones is they can’t catch everybody to poll them PLUS with so many folks doing absentee or early balloting, it just doesn’t make any sense to do something anymore. This is a fool’s errand.

Heck, let’s not even count the votes. Have Homeland Security seize the ballot boxes and let the White House staff count them for us!

The only thing exit polls are for is giving the media the chance to leak the biased results which always massively favor the democrats in an attempt to depress Republican turnout. Remember 2004 when the exit polls were leaked in mid afternoon showing Kerry winning over Bush by a healthy margin...

Many, many liberals hang their “self-worth” hats on their support of “brilliant” people. It was apparent that he wasn’t/isn’t brilliant in the least.

Many will be in denial, and many will experience a severe case of cognitive dissonance.

We were poll watchers in 2004. Our precinct was still voting when they called Pennsylvania for Kerry. Meanwhile, Ohio, which Bush won by almost exactly the same margin, didn’t get called until the next day and it was about noon before Kerry actually conceded.

Likely both. But I’d suspect that some of the ones they kept are really strong Romney ones that they think are close enough to frack with in addition to push the swing states.

The entire liberal and media establishment as well as news reporting wire organizations are evily corrupt. They simply will not give up and relent to logic and the evil of their convictions.

....Voters in the excluded states will still be interviewed as part of a national exit poll, but state-level estimates of the partisan, age or racial makeups of electorates won’t be available as they have been since 1992.....

Exit polling has become less accurate with regards to the overall election outcome since we now have early voting in a number of states. They are attempting to phone survey early voters in some 15 states with a phone interview but that becomes harder with both landlines and cell phones.

This is a blatant attempt to PROLONG the result on election night.

I garauntee all 19 states are probably DEEP RED states — and what will happen is this:

With no exit poll these states that would have been called IMMEDIATELY upon the polls closing will be labeled TOO CLOSE TO CALL as there is no exit poll data to base a call on — so they will wait late into the night until the results for the state are so obvious they HAVE TO CALL IT.

They will use this to try and create the perception of a close race where even the normally SAFE REP states are TOO CLOSE TOO CALL.

There are a smaller number of states needed to win an election. With the EC votes, no one really cares how most of the midwest goes.

Oregon has voted by mail for over a decade now. Exit polls are not possible.

As more of the electorate opts for absentee ballots, exit polls become unbalanced and useless.

Mainstream media is also going broke, so they are cutting expenses and useless exit polls is an obvious place to cut.

This election is “make or break” for the MSM. If they can’t deliver a winner they have no influence to sell. A Romney win would be devastating to them.

They don’t relish acknowledging The Disaster’s collapse any sooner than they have to.

If it is clear by 6 o’clock that The Disaster is gone, gone, gone like a cool breeze only the most confirmed political wonks, like us, will be watching their propaganda programs. Ratings will collapse.

Romney should call a huge press conference and release his college transcripts with a big fan fare. “Some people have questioned my educational credentials. And the People have a right to examine them. So I am having the universities I have attended to release certified copies of my transcripts for the PUBLIC to see.”

This election is “make or break” for the MSM. If they can’t deliver a winner they have no influence to sell. A Romney win would be devastating to them.
Wire service journalism - AP journalism, essentially - faces a potentially critical decision. It might perhaps not be too late to back down and make bluff like they were always being even-handed in this race as Romney gallops home uncontested. Pretty much the way that pollsters hype the prospects of Democrat candidates until just before the election, then publish serious estimates of the true strength of the candidates just before the election. Or, they can double down, assuming that they have so much propaganda power that they cannot be truly at the risk of entirely jumping the shark.

And based on my understanding that journalists have never learned how to even try to be objective, I would predict the latter. All they know is how to put up a Potemkin Village facade of objectivity based solely on propaganda power. They will double down the same way that Dan Rather doubled down when he was caught promoting fraudulent “Texas Air National Guard memos.”

It will be interesting to see how much of a hit their brand takes in the process. It is tempting - right, abb? - to predict a make-or break crisis, but just as Adam Smith pointed out that “There is a lot of ruin in a country,” I would suggest that journalists have an enormous reservoir of (undeserved) good will - and they will still be around after they have gotten egg all over their faces this November.

Oh, yes, they’ll still be around. But their power will be diminished - that process is ongoing every day. Dead-tree newspapers are losing advertisers, as are the alphabet networks.

Just this week, The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune went to three days per week publication.

However, until our side puts enough citizen reporters on the ground to counter the MSM, they will retain a goodly amount of power.

The Breibart model needs to be expanded.

Became apparent after the election, that the exit polls would conflict with the voting machine results planned by Obama's forces.

"state-level estimates of the partisan, age or racial makeups of electorates won’t be available as they have been since 1992"

The results having been set in stone by Obama, should not be challenged by an exit poll.
