I agree with this decision. “Illegal invaders” is much more accurate.
Even if it offensive (which it is not - it’s descriptive) - shouldn’t it be up the readers to make that determination rather than a unilateral decision by the editors?
newspaper announces it will live in a world of its own imagination instead of reality
In favour of ‘wetbacks’?
Media death watch. They wonder why.
You have my deepest sympathy.
Controlling the terminology of the debate gives one side a HUGE edge. Guess which side is winning, as this trend continues.
If the objective is obfuscation, that is entirely true.
I have never had any level of misunderstanding of the word 'illegal.' It is a simple description. It is objectivity in its purest form.
Let the 'Rats play the word games.
Surprising to hear that they’re switching to “wetback”.

Newspaper Joins Imaginary World
A little satire to spread around campus.
(Associated Posers) BERKELEY, California The independent daily student newspaper of the UC-Berkeley campus, the DAILY CALIFORNIAN has announced it will no longer use words it deems offensive to its readership, such as illegal immigrant, Islamic or Arab terrorist, Republican or suspected murderer.
feel free to print it out and pass them out on campus. lol
I never have used that phony term..
Theyre not immigrants...
theyre ILLEGAL ALIENS
I think this is the open-borders Left trying to send the phrase “illegal alien” down Orwell’s famous Memory Hole. Trouble is, we have the Internet now, as antidote to the Left’s Ministry of Truth. Along the same lines of 70s hippie-revolutionary-thugs like Bill Ayers robbing banks and calling it “liberating funds.” Note: bank robbers are still called bank robbers.
