A Philadelphia high schooler says she was humiliated after her teacher told her to remove a Mitt Romney T-shirt she was wearing, comparing it to wearing a KKK shirt.
Samantha Pawlucy, a 16-year-old sophomore at Charles Carroll High School in the Port Richmond section of the city, says she wore a pink Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan T-shirt last Friday during the school's dress-down day.

You can dress like a gang banger, a druggie, a drunk, a hooker, wear your Che tee shirts, your Mexican pride shirts, your pro gay shirts, walk around talking about shooting your classmates, talk about tearing down the US government and killing its citizens in the name of Jihad, etc.
And it’s all called “Free Speech”.
Criticizing any of the above is “hate speech” and out of line.
It’s another day in Obamaland....
The teacher apparently passed it off as 'a joke' and the school principal played along. The teacher apologized to the girl and her parents and was transferred to another class. She'll probably get a raise.
Did she apologize in front of the class in which this occurred? If not, she should be forced to do so - on her knees.
Why wasn’t this teachers name mentioned in the article or interviewed like the student?
Times have changed so much. I remember a guy in high school wearing a t-shirt on t-shirt day that said “The word of the day is LEGS. Help spread the word.” The teachers all thought it was a riot. No way would he get away with that today. He’d probably be arrested for sexual harrassment. I graduated in ‘80.
In the small Texas town I live in, a Romney shirt would be no problem.
You know, there are still blacks alive today who have experienced real discrimination. Jim Crow laws, being denied the right to work, to speak, to vote. And, they fought (and correctly so) to address these issues.
I always wonder what they think when the aggression they successfully faced down is trivialized by idiots like this teacher.
That was hilarious! I may have to put that on my facebook page.
Forget the class. By now, every student at the school knows about it. She should make her apology over the public address system during the home room period.
This teacher is realizing that she is looking at a suspension. If she is lucky, she'll simply be transferred to another school.
Yes, I know that the union is going to try to protect her. But, this story has grown legs, and the outrage is palpable. The school district knows they have to set an example, or lose their credibility.
Yes and I'm the ghost of MLK! That is BULLSH*T! The teacher ought to be paddled in front of the class!
Far too often, its the teachers that need education:

I also wore a custom tee of my own creation featuring a space pirate girl with galactic-record-breaking gazongas and an array of blood-spattered weaponry. Never had a minute of trouble from that one either. (Althought the sixties-reject art teacher volunteered that I was "wasting my talent.") I did earn a couple of paltry commissions making copies of it.
That teacher still has a job? Why?
Another ignernt Amish teacher another litigation payoff.
