Back in August, a poll showed Obama with just a 12 point lead over Romney in Cook County, Illinois. While he posted a huge lead in the city of Chicago, the poll found him actually losing to Romney in suburban Cook County. It was a shock that I set aside as an outlier. A new poll of Illinois' 10th Congressional District, which includes parts of Cook County, however, suggests the August poll might not be such an aberration. The poll, from WeAskAmerica, finds Obama with just a 2 point lead over Romney, 47-45 in the suburban district. Obama won the district in 2008 by 23 points.

Not counting my chickens, but the democrat party may be in for a severe bloodletting, similar to 1980 when liberals were being mowed down left and right!
I don't expect Romney to win Illinois. Then again... ya never know.
Wow - with Romney turning in such a strong appearance in front of record numbers of Americans, his timing could not be better.
Pray for the America!
True, but probably not in Illinois, and, for sure, not in Cook County. Every one of the Cook County votes have already been counted with three levels of Obama victory. The level chosen will be the level needed to capture Illinois.
I think we are in for an election of Reagan-Mondale woodshed proportions. Neverthless, count on Obama winning Illinois. Let's not get carried away.
WOW! HOLY COW! Can this be true?
The article points out that the poll is 65-35 weighted to women. Even with this oversampling the Republican is winning the race for Congress in the District under discussion.
Unemployment is higher by 1 pt in Illinois than the national average. It is higher in Chicago by 2 pts.
Now there is no doubt that this state has a severe case of the Stupids but surely it has an end?
Um, well this is certainly a change.
“I don’t expect Romney to win Illinois.”
Zero up by 13 to 17 percent: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/il/illinois_romney_vs_obama-2955.html
If I were Romney I would do a campaign stop, or send Ryan, in central ilinois. It could not hurt. It would make into the Iowas news market. Maybe Peoria.
Other thing, I really don’t have much faith in Real Crappy politics,
Hold on....not so fast......they are waking up the dead people in IL as we speak, doncha know!!??
That was now Sen. Kirk’s district when he was in the House. Robert Dold now represents that district. He is on the list of freshmen reps thought to be endangered. I said this before, and I’m going to say it again. Romney is going to win big and he is going to have massive coattails. Count on it. Dold and others will be swept over the finish line by Romney’s coattails. No insult to Robert. He has to do his part, too.
Is it possible that Zero was actually a blessing in disguise? In 2008, liberals finally got the messianic affirmative action Marxist they’ve always wanted and both houses of Congress to go along with it. They had their way. And now they’ve seen how “their way” works. Or more precisely, fails to work.
