The War on Marriage - Reversible? [Vanity]

I have an honest question that I haven't been able to answer by any research I've done. What happens to the Democrat War on Marriage and Morality when the administration changes? As it stands, the DOJ is a party in numerous lawsuits to overturn DOMA, at least in "friends of the court" briefs, and has completely stopped defending this valid law. The same question applies to the attacks on voter integrity laws (voter I.D.) and redistricting obstruction in numerous states.

Since the "wheels have started turning" on these issues, is the DOJ required to follow through in the current direction, or, with the appointment of a new U.S. Attorney General, can the federal government now completely reverse course and actually begin DEFENDING these laws?

I think of the case of DOMA now being defended by legal counsel appointed by Congress (Paul Clement), which is now funded through the Congressional budget. With a sane administration coming in, can this now be transferred to the DOJ's responsibility and be paid for through the DOJ budget, perhaps keeping the same team in place?

True, I have no faith that Romney will reverse any of this. But my question was more in the general case. If we DID get an actual conservative in the White House....

Office of the Solicitor General

The task of the Office of the Solicitor General is to supervise and conduct government litigation in the United States Supreme Court. Virtually all such litigation is channeled through the Office of the Solicitor General and is actively conducted by the Office. The United States is involved in approximately two-thirds of all the cases the U.S. Supreme Court decides on the merits each year.

The war on Marriage and morality has to be fought in the homes the churches and the schools.
People must be willing to fight against the ACLU when it comes to their school or town to push homosexuality or some other perversion. People must be willing to recall or vote out politicians that push agendas to destroy society.

Agreed on all. But you didn’t answer my specific question.

Sadly, heterosexuals, most claiming to be “Christians” killed marriage long ago by abandoning clear, biblical teaching on divorce and especially divorce and remarriage. The homosexuals are simply dancing and urinating on marriage’s grave.

IMHO, given the current divorce laws, in most states, (passed by a “Christian” nation), no Bible believing church should marry ANY couple without a pre-nuptial agreement, holding both parties to biblical standards of marriage and divorce. Any couple that marries without such an agreement should be treated, by the church, as unmarried and as fornicators, living in sin.

The new A.G. could instruct the Justice Department to drop the cases.

I always thought gay marriage as odd but not a greater threat to marriage than the cursed family courts. A man is often forced to pay child support to children that are not his; no penalty, punishment, or safe-guards against cuckoldry. It seems cuckoldry (aka paternity fraud) is a protected activity of the courts.

Romney’s administration will at best be a speed bump. The leftists attack on the institution of marriage has been going on a long time:

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”
