Gas Prices Are Exploding In California And Experts Expect Them To Get A Lot Worse
Business Insider ^ | 10/4/2012 | Gary Richards

When Errol Emrich drove by a Shell station in his San Jose neighborhood last weekend, regular gas was selling for $4.05 a gallon. On Monday, it was $4.15. On Tuesday, $4.25. And this weekend? Analysts say it could reach a whopping $4.40. Problems at California refineries have slashed supplies across the state, cutting fuel production and raising wholesale prices -- the price stations pay for their gasoline -- by as much as 73 cents, to levels not seen since 2007. And that almost certainly will boost prices at the pump again soon. "California gasoline prices may surge in the next five days, perhaps to levels higher than February's $4.33-a-gallon average," said Patrick DeHaan, an analyst with Gasbuddy.com. "It is within the realm of possibility that average prices reach near $4.40 or even higher if the situation worsens."

Californians need to “pay their fair share”. Send it to $20 per gallon in CA for all I care.

Obama and his Democrats love high prices for food, gasoline, electricity and the other necessities of life for average income Americans.

They want Americans to be too busy working to pay for necessities instead of having time to ponder what the Democrats are doing to America.

Good, perhaps it'll teach the idiots living there to stop voting straight-party Democrat.

Now let's have that happen here in Illinois too to teach the f'ing idiots here the same damn' thing!

Yeah, unless you live here and are continually outvoted by them. Then there is nothing pleasant about it.

I saw self serve cash regular at $4.519 today in Silicon Valley.

It's already been higher than that in Chicago. Easily higher than that back in June/July.

Y'all ain't seen nothing yet, just keep voting straight democrat while Obama's EPA runs around shutting down refineries!

There is the possibility that huge spikes in gas could turn safe states into not so safe ones.

It’s high time that Californians stop raping the earth, get out of their cars, and ride bicycles, no, UNICYCLES. Align their behavior with their voting.

Premium at $4.85 on the way home from work in San Diego. The Harley eats premium. No other price matters.

Has anyone thought about simply dropping the law requiring custom gas?

(hint)

I assumed California had outlawed refineries. Who knew?

But if those refineries are the main source of their gasoline and they are in a pinch all I can say is “Tough tacos, Cali. Go cry to Gov. Moonbeam.”

No, the majority west coasters (Granola crunchers/limousine liberals/welfare leeches) would blame the rise on greedy oil execs securing the 55 for Obama.

Fantastic idea! That reminds me of the "Sticky Note Campaign" which looks like a great idea, too... I'm going to start doing this in PA and my sticky notes are going on gas pumps stating "Gas was $1.81 per gallon when Obama was elected... Vote Romney!"

Don’t forget prop 38 which raises everyones taxes over 48K and Measure A (local tax measure). I feel lost in California. Help I just paid $4.49 for gas today.

People in California should put Post-it notes on the gas station pumps reminding people that because of Obama’s policies rejecting the Pipeline gas prices will continue to skyrocket, which is EXACTLY what Obama and his cronies want
