LAPD stance on illegal immigration puts Chief Beck in hot seat

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck stepped into the national immigration debate Thursday, announcing that hundreds of illegal immigrants arrested by his officers each year in low-level crimes would no longer be turned over to federal authorities for deportation.

The new rules, which are expected to affect about 400 people arrested each year, mark a dramatic attempt by the nation's second-largest police department to distance itself from federal immigration policies that Beck says are unfair to undocumented immigrants suspected of committing petty offenses.

Beck says are unfair to illegal immigrants suspected of committing petty offenses.

Unfair to people who routinely disrespect and sh*t on our rules and laws?

Beck should be forced to resign immediately for this GD lawless insanity.

What laws can American's break Mr. Beck, where you'll stand up and support them because they might be unfair?

Bill Parker is rolling in his grave.

Welcome to the new post Constitutional America, land of lawlessness where each individual gets to decide on which laws the like and which ones they do not like, and act appropriately. End of a nation of laws.

Beck is at the mercy of the LA City Council and Mare Villar. They will give him a medal for this. LA is a sanctuary city and so is SF and Sacramento.

I know all about the politics and the communist who've infiltrated there.

Not only should Beck resign immediately, but the entire city management, for corruption at every level.

The GD citizens should demand what laws they can break, where the local government will feel sorry for them and give them each a pass.

Welcome to the new post Constitutional America, land of lawlessness where each individual Democrat gets to decide on which laws the like and which ones they do not like, and act appropriately.

Minor change.

I have this image of the chief being dragged from his office after word gets out that one of the released illegal aliens kills or rapes one of our citizens.

A proper tarring and feathering would adjust the attitude of our public servants.

Add San Antonio, Texas to your list. Actually almost everything within about 60 miles surrounding downtown Houston is a sanctuary area.

You left out San Antonio. ....I agree that most of the Gulf and border cities are sanctuaries for illegals, because many folks there have families in Mexico. Dallas, Houston, Austin, et al are governed by gays, blacks, hispanics and other liberals who just think wrongly, IMO.

I live in North Central Texas and I don’t agree with your inclusion of Denton and Fort Worth as being sanctuary cities. ..........What’s your source for your posting?

Yep, I've been there and found Dallas is not much better. We also found the weather to be uninhabitable for humans.

It's why we stay in California and refuse to leave the year round near perfect weather which is worth a fortune to us, not to mention the beaches, mountains, deserts and all the other things to do and see.

For the past 20 years the rest of the country is getting what CA got, except for all the good things like year round Mediterranean style weather and all the things to do and see.

We knew 20+ years ago this would happen.
