We Are All Bullies Now: Jennifer Livingston, meet Kenneth Krause, Liberal, Atheist, Secular Humanist

How was I able to determine that the the speaker would be a liberal worried about the ‘obesity’ epidemic?

Come on folks. Open your eyes.

Just as a simple example, consider this story that I read just today about the USDA encouraging parents to introduce crappy food that kids don’t like at home, so that they will eat them at school.

And why is our government ‘waging war’ on obesity? Consider a bit of news that I heard on WIZM just a few weeks ago: Wisconsin obesity rate among adults on the rise, study finds

Trust for America’s Health released a state-by-state study titled “F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2012,” which found the obesity rate among Wisconsin adults could be 56.3 percent by 2030. In 2011, 27.7 percent of the state’s adults were obese.

The report found the increase in obesity is expected to contribute toward higher disease rates and health care costs, which the report said might rise by 14.7 percent by 2030.

Nationwide, 39 states might have obesity rates higher than 50 percent by 2030, 13 of those with obesity rates higher than 60 percent, the report found.

If the average body mass index of Wisconsin’s residents went down 5 percent by 2030, or about a ten-pound loss for a six-foot, 200-pound person, the report found Wisconsin health care costs could drop 7.4 percent. By 2030, this could bring savings of $11,962,000,000.

So there you have it. Health care costs are out of control, and since–thanks to Obamacare and other Nanny-state initiatives–we the people have to foot the bill for all those fat people, we the people have got to intervene.

Fat people are the last group that everyone can hate and disparage without repurcussions. Will it end in people being put in camps?

The irony is that people whose BMI puts them in the overweight category, and even in the obese category, live longer than those of "normal" weight. Those who are underweight fare the worst.

The real problem is that we have made everyone's weight a subject of national concern. This gives people like Krause a free pass to dictate to others how they should live.

Yet another secular humanist. I posted before about how their Manifesto resembles LaVey’s Satanic Bible just a little too much. They’re a pack of mass murderers that haven’t gotten the power they want yet (and never should).

I have taught my kids that those who have the gold make the rules. The nanny staters have wormed into the minds of Americans and made them think it’s their business what their fellow citizens do because it costs us all when people make stupid decisions.

Of course, they will never acknowledge that it costs us all because they have used the power of the federal, state and local governments to force us to pay for it all.

He sent a single private email.

They went on broadcast TV.

They were the bullies and I hope he gets their broadcast license revoked

The point of what I posted was that this is not about bullying. It’s about what happens when liberal atheists take over and seek to control the rest of the population.

Once he sent his email, it ceased to be private. Nobody has a guarantee that what they send in an email, particularly to a public figure or a business, will remain private. He deserves all the criticism he has received.

Whatever. They showed themselves to be bullies over a simple email. They are some thin-skinned cretins.

You must really love the leftist media too.

There’s no such thing as a “private email.” Show me any law that exists that says you have to keep mail from a stranger private.

Seriously. No-one else could see it until the punk put it out on Facebook and then they spent 15 minutes on TV spewing their personal vitriolic vendetta.

They chose the fight.

I guess the liberal media can send reporters to write up front page criticism of their conservative letter to editor writers.

“John C Smith who lives at 123 First Street is a right wing nazi stooge. He wrote something we didn’t like so we are running this on the front page so our liberal readers will know where to find him”.

That’d be fine too I guess.

Legally, it is. Unless you have a contract with the receiver to keep all your communications confidential, what’s your letters in the mailbox or somebody email, it’s in the public domain already.

A person could start a website called LettersFromGeronL.com tomorrow, and you could try to sue them for damages if you wanted, but the first thing the judge is going to ask you, is if you have a signed contract with that person to keep your messages confidential.

That’s also why public entities like newspapers or television stations often have a clause next to their contact information, saying that letter sent to them become the property of that newspaper or TV station... its for the confused people who don’t know that once they give somebody a letter, it’s no longer theirs...it’s now the property of the person they sent it to, and unless a confidentiality agreement exists in writing, the sender has no legal expectation that the letter he sends will be held private.

“Fat people are the last group that everyone can hate and disparage without repurcussions.”

I doubt that it is the last group. There are liberals everywhere thinking of new ways to harass decent people.

I believe that alcohol is next on the list for government to place onerous taxes on. It worked so well with tobacco.

I’m a heavy, but fit guy. I look at this gal, in my eye she needs to get out and walk more, there’s a difference between riding heavy and the heavy riding you.

Now that this guy’s letter is public, it’s out in the arena of public debate, people are discussing personal health issues, and this girl is probably rethinking her life strategy. Bringing the topic up for debate is probably a win win all around.

Gratuitously attacking people for their appearance, is never right, but as a man who has been large his whole life, I know that’s something that will never change. I’m a person who speed walks 5 miles minimum a day, every day, and teach martial arts classes to hyperactive a little kids after it, as well as maintain a small business, pursue the liveaboard life aboard a sailboat, my blood pressure is low, my blood sugar is low, my resting pulse rate is in the forties...that’s good for me. Sometimes I run into a human being who needs to call me a fat ass... and that’s what’s good for them. I know who the weakling is.

The irony is that the primary cause for the massive rise in obesity is that people are following the government's advice.

Funny. The government forced the food pyramid and consequently insulin resistance on us. Now they are going to force the Stalin diet plan.

It is still bullying.

They did 1000x more bullying than the letter writer did.

Leftwing hypocrites the lot of them

LOL, you contradicted yourself, and just plowed on. That public entity clause is not a public service, it's a contract declaration that negates the OPPOSITE of what your saying - the presumption of privacy in mail communications.

The first thing a judge would ask the one violating your privacy is if this contract to release your privacy existed.

That's why all sorts of government lawsuits exist trying to reframe email - because if it's treated like regular mail, it's PRIVATE, and that's a problem because they want to be able to get their hands on it without a warrant.

You've got it ALL totally backwards.

Sure, whatever you say, professor. Just show the board one court case where anyone has ever received a judgement for making the contents of any “private” letter, public.

We’re waiting.

You do know that it’s the receiver of this letter who made the letter public, don’t you? Or did you bother to even read the article?

If you think the person who receives a letter violates the law by revealing what a stranger writes them, you need to get your money back for the Cracker Jack box you got your legal degree from.
