Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., appears to dodging a campaign promise he made to look into evidence President Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery.
In a letter to a constituent dated Oct. 2, Coburn said his staff had reached out to the office of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Phoenix after making a promise to tea-party activist Miki Booth at an Aug. 7 town hall appearance in Claremore, Okla. At the campaign event, Booth was seen on video confronting the senator about a letter she had written to him.
“My staff has reached out to Sheriff Arpaio’s office,” Coburn wrote in the constituent letter. “However, I have yet to be presented any credible evidence to demonstrate President Obama was not born in Hawaii.”
From there, Coburn cited Obama being placed on state ballots for president as proof Obama’s birth certificate is genuine. ......

Tom started out noble enough but he has become corrupted and unreliable. He now seems to be pretty much just another part of the machine and absorbed by the borg that is politics.
Sounds like this SOB was presented with an offer he couldn't refuse.
I have observed that roughly 10 years is the threshold.
Ten years (says 2 Senate terms which is 12, still roughly 10!) and you start becoming more interested in preserving the DC “status quo”. In short your constituency is the “Beltway Crowd” not your home constituency.
Some politicians arrive desiring to serve that “Beltway Crowd (preserve the current DC status quo”!) they are called Democrats. Others arrive and have it seep into their “pores” by being there too long (roughly 10 years) they are called Republicans.
The only solution is Term Limits”
2 terms in the Senate (12 years) then must sit out a full term to regain eligibility,
6 terms in the House (12 years) then sit out 3 terms (6 years) to regain eligibility,
During the period of ineligibility the politician needs to go home, run for mayor, county commissioner, governor or even “Dare I say it?” , get a job in private industry !
But GO HOME and see what the effects were back home on the "folks" given 10 years of the politician’s governing “wisdom”.
The average politician who is capable of honest self-relfection will be shocked !
At this point he’s relying on what was reported: that HI state registrar Alvin Onaka had verified that Obama was born in Hawaii. In actual fact, Alvin Onaka did NOT verify any of the birth facts submitted to him for verification and thus confirmed that the record they have for Obama is not legally valid.
IOW, the media’s incompetence and lies are carrying the day. But we can’t get any conservative media or anybody else to report the truth. We can’t get past Trump’s secretary to try to get the information to him. All the gate-keepers are unwilling to get the truth out there.
Attorney Larry Klayman sent a letter explaining all this to DNC Counsel Bob Bauer, delivered by courier at 2:22pm EDT the Friday before the DNC Convention began. He also sent copies of that letter by certified mail to every member of the DNC Executive Committee, every member of the Commission on Presidential Debates, every state democratic party chair, every state SOS, and every state AG.
The players who are LEGALLY responsible have all been legally informed of the FACT that Obama has no legally-valid birth record in Hawaii and that in his name a forged image was posted on the White House website to cover up that fact.
I spoke with the legal department of NE SOS John Gale and was told that even if Bob Bauer, Antonio Villaigarosa, and Alice Travis Germond were serving time in jail for a conviction of perjury, fraud, and the subornation of the same, Obama’s name would still have to go on the ballot because Nebraska election statutes don’t specifically say that the filing papers have to be LAWFUL. And I was told that Nebraska officials don’t have to care what Hawaii says anyway so there is no responsibility for the SOS to report suspected perjury and fraud to law enforcement either.
In Arizona, the county attorney will not address this issue because he says that election statute places federal and state election issues in the jurisdiction of the SOS and AG alone, so he can’t deal with it because it doesn’t involve a strictly COUNTY election. But when I asked if the election statutes deal with perjury and fraud, he acknowledged that they don’t. So perjury and fraud are not specifically ELECTION issues and there is no jurisdictional issue. The fraud happened in Maricopa County when a perjurious OCON was submitted to the SOS, and that is the county whose law enforcement is thus responsible to investigate and prosecute the crimes. Somebody in AZ needs to file a criminal report and hold law enforcement accountable to follow up on it. This is not an election issue, not a political issue. This is a law enforcement issue. To refuse to investigate crimes because the perpetrators are politicians is to politicize law enforcement - which is exactly why Mexico is owned by the drug cartels right now.
I called the NE AG’s office and was told that they can’t give me access to the Criminal Investigation Division. The unwashed masses can’t be heard by the AG without first going through local law enforcement so the sheriff and county attorney can decide whether to refer the case up to the DOJ. That’s two more gate-keepers to make sure that the issue gets poo-poohed and the rule of law can’t happen. I contacted the sheriff and county attorney a week ago - that is, if DHS allowed my email to get through.... - and haven’t heard back. I will make personal contact today.
The same thing needs to happen in every state of the union. Normal people like you and me need to be going to our county sheriffs’ offices and filing criminal complaints against whoever submitted the perjurious, fraudulent DNC Certification of Nomination to the state SOS to get Obama on the ballot.

At this point it isn’t about the election. Obama’s name is going to be on the ballots. At this point this is about law enforcement and making sure the SOB’s who are knowingly raping this country - committing crimes on behalf of the usurper - are held legally accountable for doing so. And not for the sake of vengeance, but as a deterrent to keep this from ever happening again.

I am so tired of all the PhonyCon RINOs actively aiding Obama on the Eligibility issue. Instead of worrying about how big Michelle’s derriere is growing....there is a real issue with Obama Eligibility
Coburn came into office as some “conservative hero” when he really was nothing more than a spineless RINO. Should have known when he was one of John McCain’s earliest supporters in the 2008 campaign
Obviously, there are some ramifications that these people are not ready to face.
Of course, we know some of them - every law, order, appointment, decision, cabinet level regulation - would have to be rescinded.
I don't think that would necessarily be a bad thing, in fact I can't think of a single thing 0bama has done that has been good for The Country.

Coburn’s letter was on point that he has never been presented with CREDIBLE evidence. I agree. You have suspicious points here and there, but nothing adds up to proof.
From day one I have believed this birth-certificate stuff would lead nowhere. I was correct, but did not see the backlash favoring the liberals by leading to a massive division in the conservative movement. Some conservatives are acting like Bill Maher. The BC solidified the Democrats and divided the Republicans.
Fascinating.
If Coburn, or ANYONE in DC, wishes to rise above SOB status they had better start delivering on promises made and listening to the American People. Backing down to 0bama does not elevate him.
Senators should be elected as originally defined, but if we are going with a popular vote instead, then limit their terms.
National office should be short term service to represent the interests of the people and state than sent them there, not a lifetime career of self interest.

Senator Coburn is not backing down to Obama, as you claim. He cannot find credible evidence; nor can I, and I WANT to.
Moreover, Coburn’s job as Senator is not to listen to you or other citizens, but to obey his oath of office and his duties to the Constitution. When those two events coincide, good. But to listen to the American People, as you claim he should, is a fool’s errand. If our nation was a democracy you would have a point.
This is a lib magazine but a decent article about how people come from where we live and become beltway insiders and never return. They are bought and paid for by power and money.

Well, of course, he wasn’t going to do anything. No court has done anything. They’ve all gotten the phone call and caved. Bottom line, my cat could be on the ballot and they wouldn’t bother getting off their posteriors to investigate it. What a sorry bunch.
