Obama: 'We Don't Believe Anybody Is Entitled to Success in This Country'
(Excerpt) Read more at weeklystandard.com ...
This country does not just succeed when just a few are doing well at the top,” Obama said, according to a rush transcript of the remarks. “It succeeds when the middle class gets bigger. Our economy does not grow from the top-down, it grows from the middle-out. We do not believe that anybody is entitled to success in this country. But we do believe in opportunity. We believe in a country where hard work pays off and responsibilities are rewarded and everybody is getting a fair shot and everybody’s doing their fair share. And everybody’s paying by the same rules. That is the country believe in. That is what we have been fighting for the last four years. That is what we’re going to put in place in the next four years if you reelect me as president of the United States of America.”
Does he believe everybody is entitled to an 0bamaph0ne?
Video at link
So, who has been burying the middle class the last four years, and who will help the middle class in the future?
On its face that is a mostly true statement. No one is entitled to success, but they are entitled to the opportunity for success. What one does wth that opportunity is up to him. With that said, and knowing what I know about our moron President, I am pretty damn sure he also meant that no one is entitled to the opportunity for success.
Then Obama, you are NOT entitled to a SECOND TERM.
Can you say “President-elect Mitt Romney?”
“Our economy does not grow from the top-down, it grows from the middle-out.”
What does that even mean?
Producers grow economies, because they are the ones providing the stuff, made with the jobs they hire people to do, so that those workers can buy it with the paychecks those producers give to them.
Anyone else says this and it means equal opportunity. When he says it it means redistribution of wealth.
“...and everybodys doing their fair share.”
His base isn’t going to like that one.
I think what he meant is that if you ARE successful, you are not entitled to keep the fruits of that labor, you gotta share.
??????????????
Of course not....to a Democrat, success implies some form of actual work ——a paycheck or payout for actually doing something! They’re not about anything in that genre.
They’re not interested in paychecks, they’re interested in payback! And that sure as (you know what!) don’t mean work.
Nice.:)
Interesting how almost everything obama says can instantly be used against him.
[[Our economy does not grow from the top-down, it grows from the middle-out.
What does that even mean?]]
It measns he wants America to becoem fat and lazy living easy off other peopel’s money- Growing from the middle out- overweight-
Dems believe you’re not entitled to your earnings, either.
yet every moocher is entitled an Obama Phone.
Perfect!
This is like watching a nervous breakdown occur on a national stage. If he were a celebrity, it would be curious and sad, but hes the President of the United States. His life is unraveling before him on live TV and his tone is becoming one of person out of touch with reality and descending into depression. This sort of thing could get darn scary by election day if his strange behaviour keeps up.
What the hell DOES he think the government has to do with it in the first place???
He DOES seem to think people are ‘entitled’ to have your money being ‘redistributed’ to them if you are a success, though.
But he does believe everyone is entitled to a fair share...
0bama believes one person’s success should be SHARED by everyone. He truly believes that. He’s said “everyone will get their fair share”. He said it in the debate. He’s currently spreading America’s wealth to the rest of the world to ‘level the playing field’; BAD FOR US, great for them! That’s why we’ve slipped in global competitiveness. ‘2016; Obama’s America’ explains this well.
People aren’t entitled to “success”, but they’re entitled to:
ObamaPhones
ObamaFood
ObamaHousing
ObamaTransit
ObamaRomneyCare
ObamaHeat
ObamaEverythingelsetheycouldpossiblyneed
That's interesting. He apparently realized his oops. Here's what he said in his closing statement at the debate:
.....they have an opportunity to succeed. And everybodys getting a fair shot and everybodys getting a fair share. Everybodys doing a fair share and everybodys playing by the same rules.
Just once I would love for someone to slap the SNOT out of that bungling fool. well, besides MOOCH.
[[Obama: ‘We Don’t Believe Anybody Is Entitled to Success in This Country’]]
so when obama tries to nail romeny on the 47% remark, romeny can simply throw this back in his face- but of course, romney won’t- He’ll just stammer when obama brings up the 47% remark, or try to explain it away, digging himself in even deeper witrh the mainstream media who lvoe to twist his words- He should refuse to answer the 47% accusations from obama and instead turn it around and ask why the president of the united states feels that peopel aren’t entitled to sucess i nthis coutnry- ask him why he’s waging a war on successful people-
Bums are not entitled to the fruits of my labor
FUBO!
"We have come too far to abandon the change we fought for these past few years.
We have to move forward to the future we imagined in 2008 where everyone gets a fair shot, and everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules.
Thats the choice in this election and thats why Im running for a second term as President of the United States.~Barack Obama
WTF is the middle-class? I thought this was the United States, not the British Empire.
“What does that even mean?”
Precisely - and what do any of these same, worn out repeated statements mean, even to his own supporters?
“...not anyone is entitled to success”. What the F*** is this suppose to imply???
My only conclusion is that this a**hole of a president wants his base of victims to assume that anyone who has succeeded financially in life does not deserve what he/she has accomplished and that they have “unfairly” achieved their dreams.
Who are all of these successful, middle class business owners who have succeeded and failed to “follow the same rules” or failed to pay their “fair share”??
Answer - there are no such group of unfair winners. They are, however, a target to spread Obama’s false narrative of class envy and class warfare to obtain votes. And his completely, brain-dead supporters go along with this jackass without even realizing the stupidity of the argument they’ve bought into.
I think a question for Obama is: Is the country itself entitled to success?
Why can’t America be successful, prosperous?
Obama is a cold-hard commie. How can we allow this idiot to get a second term? He must be stopped.
Obummer: ‘We Don’t Believe Anybody Is Entitled to Success in This Country’
That`s why I want you NOT to succeed, you SOB-
I want YOU TO FAIL MISERABLY AND eat your own words,
you POS Obummer
My husband and I both work for billionaires - and so do most of the people in my neighborhood. The neighborhood where I live is nice and values are stable because we are all benefiting from the risks taken and the true grit of a few people who in the 1970s had a great idea and the fortitude to see it through.
Seems like Obama doesn’t even understand this since it happens without government intervention.
soooooo, will R&R be able to articulate that this statement means that 'the rich' should pay their fair share, %-wise, as the '47%' ??? or does this mean that the '47%' needs to be paying more ???
better get slo joe out in front and doing damage control...doh !!!
I've been growing from the middle out for years. :o)
Literally, he is right (though I’m not sure this is the way he meant it). ‘Entitled to’ means ‘having an unconditional right to’ or ‘being guaranteed a right to’ something. No-one has a natural ‘right’ to success in this country, whether they work for it or not. We are all entitled to the MEANS to success through our own efforts, indeed. But the very problem of the ‘entitlement society’ we see developing around us is surely that too many people DO believe that they are ‘entitled’ to ‘success’ without having to get off their butts and work for it.
No government endows ‘success’, nor is that its role. The role of government is to provide a climate and environment which enables those who wish to work for success to achieve their dreams.
“Then Obama, you are NOT entitled to a SECOND TERM.”
He is entitled to an opportunity to EARN a second term.
So far he is doing a LOUSY job of earning it.
What is it about the Kenyan anti-Christ and Virginia that when he visits, he keeps sticking his foot down his mouth till it comes out the other side of his alimentary canal?
Stop trying to make logical sense from the applause lines spoken to the envious and resentful cretins!
That should be fairly obvious to anyone with knowledge of his record.
“so when obama tries to nail romeny on the 47% remark, romeny can simply throw this back in his face- but of course, romney wont- Hell just stammer when obama brings up the 47% remark, or ...”
After Wednesday you would think that some of you would have moved off of the whole “Romney isnt going to do...” line of BS.
Obviously you guys weren’t very good at reading him, but insist on putting words in his mouth.
but green jobs deserve success yes? I mean that’s why we support them with our tax dollars, right?
Did Obamugabe say this today in Virginia? (or was it yesterday?)
“we’re gonna put in place the next four years”??
So it’s not in place after your first four doofus?
I wonder if obamma believes he played by the same rules?
I had (at one time) 3 part-time jobs + classes while I was a student. In college all my friends where out having a great time and a wonderful campus experience... I had to WORK...I always worked and kept at it until I graduated.
After college I was on my way, and when I thought I was STILL ENTITLED TO MORE ... I took a part-time job, in addition to my straight boogie... so I could get more than I had and ALL I AM ENTITLED TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is how it works.
I don't think that I am unique in this.
Why is it so hard for Mr. “O” and his lazy and spoiled supporters to comprehend.
