The latest NBC/WSJ/Marist poll gives President Obama an eight-point lead in Ohio, and the RealClearPolitics average shows Obama ahead by 5.5 percent. Obama beat John McCain in Ohio by 4.8 percent, and if we are to believe these polls, President Obama is on track to beat Mitt Romney there by an even wider margin despite the down economic indicators and a lack of excitement for the president.
But thats not going to happen.
With a month to go in this election, the one real performance indicator we have for Ohio early absentee ballot requests shows Republicans have narrowed the gap since 2008 in every county on record in the state.

Hence the bogus employment report.
I hope it’s so big that they don’t know what hit em!
Went to mail my absentee ballot yesterday in Ohio. A co-worker (also voting for Mitt) went earlier in the day, and mentioned a postal worker said there were LOTS of people bringing ballots to the post office (day after the debate)!
Obama getting blown out in Ohio? Scream that Romney is down 15 points.
Isn’t the postal union? Just asking cause I would be very leery mailing out my ballot. The US postal has a habit of miss placing, delaying and yes even losing mail. There is nothing like voting in person...unless you live out of state or something!
Can an absentee ballot be certified when mailed out??
I think the media is waking up to what Freepers figured out weeks ago.
Agreed. Absentee ballots are sometimes not even counted.
In Ohio, they are always counted unless the voter is ineligible or the ballot is illegible.
I saw Ohio as the indicator in 2008 that McCain had lost big.
If Romney takes Ohio, the rest are pretty well in the bag.
The County Board of Elections here in Ohio has an automated phone number - answering service - so you can ‘follow’ your ballet as being ‘received’, and then ‘counted’.
