Posted on 10/05/2012 3:11:09 PM PDT by DallasBiff
Romney had said, "I'm gonna stop the subsidy to PBS ... I like PBS, I love Big Bird ... but I am not going to keep spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for." Cecelia and others were upset about potentially losing the long-running "Sesame Street" and other PBS shows. Cecelia's handwritten letter reads as follows:
"I saw you on the debate last night and you said you would cut off PBS kids with Sesame Street on it. It was my favorite show on Earth. But now I'm 8 years old. When I grow up, I'm going to get married and I want my kids to watch it. So do not cut it off. You find something else to cut off! Don't hurt little kids. They need Sesame Street where they can learn from it. Save Big Bird and his friends."
Reaction to the letter has been mixed. One skeptical commenter wrote, "If anyone thinks kids really write these letters, then I have a bridge to sell you." Another agreed with the letter, writing, "please Mitt ... just leave this one alone."
The letter was sent to Romney campaign headquarters by Cecelia's mom and also to the Huffington Post. No word yet from the Romney campaign on Cecelia's letter, and lucky for Romney, the legal voting age in the United States is 18.

Sheesh, the Obamacrats are desperate.
SNUFF THE ROOSTER!!!!
If Big Bird is really that popular, it will survive on its own without all of us paying for it involuntarily. Stupid statist leftists.
Romney said the test for everything in the world like that should be whether or not it’s worth borrowing money from China to pay for. Somebody needs to ask little Suzy how she feels about being a white slave belonging to some Chinese gang lord when she turns twelve or thirteen (for the sake of Big Bird)...
Big Bird won’t be fired, he’ll just be funded by those that love him most. Capitalism is a beautiful thing if allowed to exist.
Talk about a big thankgiving bird...mmm
MEMO to brainwashed 8 year old and his dumbass parents:
Mitt won’t fire Big Bird. He’ll simply make him live off the billions of dollars he makes without TAX PAYER money....you socialist dumbasses...
Thanksgiving that is.
If everyone loves Sesame Street so much, it should have no problem surviving on its own in the competitive marketplace just like every other successful show.
Make that ...without all of us having to barrow money from China to pay for it involuntarily.
SNUFF n STUFF
In the end, Sesame Street is all marketing, isn't it.
Does Cecelia’s parents donate to PBS? If not, maybe they should.
More commie BS. Get little, 8 year old Cecelia (Named after the old Simon and Garfunkel song) to write a goofy letter to the mean, old, white Republican man so Mommy Commie can use if for communist propaganda. This ‘RAT dog and pony show is getting old. What a load. DemocRATS really need to grow up.
Big Bird is a 1%er
He doesn’t get direct government money (PBS does give them a bit for broadcast rights I guess, though)
Actually, kid, he said he'd cut government funding. But PBS collects a lot of donations from viewers. So pony and and pay the bill if you like Big Bird. That, or get used to advertisements.
Take away the bird feed. Put him on Michelle’s diet.
How to Roast Your Big Bird
To prepare the Big Bird for roasting, first remove the giblets (and save for gravy or stuffing). Next, rinse the bird inside and out and pat dry with paper towels.
· If you are stuffing your Big Bird, stuff it loosely, allowing about ½ to ¾ cup stuffing per pound.
· Brush the skin with melted butter or oil. Tie drumsticks together with string (for stuffed birds only).
· Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the BIg Bird's thigh. The thermometer should point towards the body, and should not touch the bone.
· Place the Big Bird on a rack in a roasting pan, and into a preheated 350 degree F oven.
· Bake until the skin is a light golden color, and then cover loosely with a foil tent. During the last 45 minutes of baking, remove the foil tent to brown the skin.
Basting the Big Bird is not necessary, but helps promote even browning.
