Skip to comments. The Wisconsin Voter: Swing voters to watch in Wisconsin: those who approve of both Walker and Obama

One intriguing surprise from last Junes recall election was the exit poll finding that one in six Scott Walker voters planned to vote for President Obama this November.
It wasnt just a polling blip.
Surveys throughout the year have identified a small but steady fraction of Wisconsin voters who seemingly defy both the pessimism and polarization of the times in approving of two lightning-rod incumbents from opposing parties, Republican Gov. Walker and Democrat Obama.
Who are these voters? Could they be a key to the presidential contest here? Can Obama count on their votes? Can Mitt Romney peel them away?
Extensive, year-long polling by Marquette Law School provides some clues.

The newspaper liberals have manufactured a whole new group of voters, previously unseen and unheard from!
Sorry newspaper liberals. But there are no pro liberty small government Wisconsin voters who approve of the big government socialist racist president in Washington.
A new class of voter? Pro Walker and Pro Obama? Dementia setting in at the Milwaukee Urinal?
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Sounds like these type of voters are the low info types that essentially don’t believe the economy is bad, and thus re-elect all incumbents
Amazing how simple minded some people are — Obama’s policies are antithesis to Walker’s
How ‘bout they think it’s alright to mooch off taxpayers, but the government unions are not sharing the swag?
Poll ping. Sorta.
Seriously? Pro-Obama and pro-Walker? That has to be a rare bird indeed.
Maybe .000001% of voters in Wisconsin?
I suspect these voters are comfortable with authority so they really see no difference between who runs the government as long as it runs. They’re not solid in their ideology which means they are pliable but not particularly sensible.
I remember there were a few who didn’t really like Walker but also didn’t think the recall effort was appropriate, but I wouldn’t think it would be a huge number.
I do believe that if Romney can match Walker’s ground game in Wisconsin, he just might pull it off up there.
There is something akin (no pun intended) to this here in MA.
Brown *HAS* to get at least some of the zer0 voters here to vote for him rather than the injun/non-lawyer, with it a given that this state is lost to zer0.
I was amused with his answer in our recent debate here as to which SCOTUS justice he most admires. He didn’t have one, but FIRST mentioned Scalia... mentioned 4 in total, with the last one being Sotomayer. (if he had said pre-Scotus-Solictor-General-Non-recuser kagen, i’d have become a Romney voter that abstained from the Senate race).
The poll was taken back in June? Back in June, I was skeptical of Romney myself, then he added Ryan and my faith grew towards Romeny. Now, almost into mid October and after Romney wiped up the floor with Obama, plus NUMEROUS failures by the POS Odumbo and his band of merry robbers, there is no doubt whatsover that Romney IS, yes IS the right man to be our next President. But then, there IS Madistan and Milwaukee....Lot of dumb asses there. Walker did what was needed, Romeny will do the same. There is no doubt Odumbo needs to be gone! Hopefully those dumb asses will wake up before its too late.
Story is an example of MSJ staffers spending sleepless nights figuring out spin .
I shoot at an outdoor range in SE Wisconsin, an off-the-beaten-path location that involves traveling secondary and county roads through a number of villages and smaller towns.
During the spring and summer, with the Walker recall initiative underway, there were plenty of yard signs supporting the recall, with fewer “Stand With Walker” signs (though the number grew with time).
I’ve seen a fair number of Romney-Ryan yard signs...as of a couple of weeks ago, I hadn’t seen a single Obama sign.
They live in a fantasyland of Kopps and Schlitz...
