Obama still more liked than Romney despite poor debate

Mitt Romney's strong debate performance did little to convince more voters he understands them or is a "good person" even though he has narrowed President Barack Obama's overall poll lead, according to a Reuters/Ipsos survey released on Saturday.

Just a month before the November 6 election, the Democratic president is ahead of his Republican challenger on character attributes that can win over undecided voters who have not been swayed on policy points.

The online survey of 1,770 registered voters and 1,492 likely voters was conducted from October 2-6.

The precision of the Reuters/Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 2.7 percentage points for registered voters and 2.9 for likely voters.

Yes, like that commercial says "You can't put anything on the internet that isn't true." Likewise it is a 100% assured the credentials of a remote URL can be verified completely.

Is that the one where the woman found a boy friend on the internet who she said was a French model?

I detest the bastard. Since his rise from the depths of Chicago I have considered him as likeable as any other con artist.

I wish one person could explain to me what makes Obama “likeable”. I hate him - can’t stand to see him or listen to him. He is a lying POS. How can anyone like someone like that???

I have never been counted among those deceived by Obama....to me it has always been clear just who and WHAT he is......but, there are really despicable people in the world who ARE personable and charming.... Obama..... isn’t. He is arrogant, thin-skinned, petulant....the internal anger that simmers inside of him shines through those eyes... How could so many people be so fooled?? They keep taking these polls....polling ‘likability’....and this unpleasant man keeps winning. HE is ‘likable’. How can this be? Or do they just say he’s a great guy.... to avoid being pegged as ‘racist’? To show, to themselves and the ‘world’, what great people THEY are?

With Romney, on a PERSONAL level separate from the political stuff, the worst I’ve thought about him is ‘plastic’. I guess I’ve never seen enough of him to form a more realistic picture of the man under the image. I was able to see a better picture of the whole man in the debate. I think I like that man.... again, separate from the politics.

But Obama? Yuck. This is NOT a nice man. But he is constantly being called likable...a great guy. There are many really shallow people out there. And they vote.

Sorry for posting this ramble...but this has always bugged me.

I think what is going on is that almost no one will admit to a pollster that he/she doesn't “like” Obama. You can semi-get away with saying you won't vote for him, but if you say you don't like him, you'll be called a racist. So, very few people will cop to not liking the guy.

I like my cat a lot, and he’s a very likable feline. He makes people smile because he’s just so nice.

That said, I don’t want him making policy or attempting to fix the country.

He’s nice, but he’s pretty stupid.

I wish they would call me, I came to terms with the racist label a long time ago...I don't care what they call me anymore. It's very Freeing!

Obama still more liked

I "like" Obama....

I'd "like" him to leave office and go away forever.
I'd "like" him to lose in a landslide.
