Mr. Romney’s money problem (55 Gallon Barf Bag Alert)
WashingtonPost.com ^ | 10/5/2012 | Cynde Sears

Regarding the Sept. 30 front-page article “Romney’s money trap”:

Mitt Romney asked a contractor (perhaps a small business) for an estimate to construct a walkway. When he learned what it would cost, he decided to build it himself with his sons’ help. In this one action, Mr. Romney unwittingly displayed who he really is.

When my husband and I faced a similar construction project for our home, we did the calculations. We looked at the cost of the raw goods, the amount of time it would take us and our lack of professionalism in this arena. The economy was very bad then (2009), and we decided that we were fortunate enough to be able to pay someone to do the work. We did what every reasonable homeowner does: We got three estimates, then hired the firm we thought would do the work best and at the fairest price. (Note that I didn’t say cheapest. Fair includes a measure of quality.) We watched as three young men worked hard over several days, earning their paychecks and giving us something we wanted in return. But by taking the little step of moving money from our bank account to that of the small business, we helped at least three people stay in their jobs (at least for the duration of our project), we received something in return, and we are all better off as a result.

Mitt was paid for working, unlike the Wookie who was paid to come to a place of work

So, I suppose if you wash your own dishes you are probably depriving an illegal alien of a job, according to this twit.

So Mitt used the need to teach his kids how to plan and complete a project and used the event to have good father/son time. He also had to purchase materials which provided work for others.

When my [wussified, metrosexual leftist] husband and I [a smug, Pious driving, leftist] faced a similar construction project for our home, we did the calculations [could we get the self-sufficient Conservative guy down the street to do the job for free and/or minimal cost].

We looked at the cost of the raw goods, the amount of time it would take us and our lack of professionalism in this arena. The economy was very bad then (2009), and we decided that we were fortunate enough to be able to pay someone to do the work [we feel good lying about this being our motivation, but it was all we had, since, no matter how hard we looked, we could not find a government program that would cover the cost by ripping off the taxpayers to fund our "needs"].

We did what every reasonable homeowner does: We got three estimates, then hired the firm we thought would do the work best and at the fairest price [well, actually, we hired the firm with the lowest price -- but they had a "go green" sign in their window, and that satisfied our fake "fair" and "quality" concerns ].

(Note that I didn’t say cheapest. Fair includes a measure of quality.) [Note that my whole dissertation doesn't really say anything of value, but we really, really like to see our words in print, and we feel that this lecture will vastly improve mankind by revealing to the world the sense of justice and fair-mindedness that only leftists possess].

What the self righteous idiot failed to see is that the do-it-yourself-ers are keeping Home Depot, Lowes, and Ace Hardware, along with their thousands of respective employees, in business too. But as long as she’s happy that she gave three people a one day job, who am I to point out the error of her logic and spoil her smugness?

We watched as three young men worked hard over several days, earning their paychecks and giving us something we wanted in return

I'm sure you checked the following:

1. They were paid prevailing wages

2.They were covered under workers comp and had health insurance coverage

3. They held valid licenses

4. They were compliant with all OSHA rules.

5. They were citizens and their I-9's were valid.

6. None were behind on child support.

7. The work was done to building code.

8. The employer did not have discriminatory hiring practices.

9. The equipment used was environmentally sensitive and they drove hybrids.

10.The project itself would not put endangered species at risk.

She’d really hate me!

I built all my fencing with the help of 2 teenagers who had never pounded a T-post before in their lives. I would not have even hired them if I hadn’t hurt my back. The post holes were contracted out, but I fenced and cross-fenced 5.58 acres into 6 paddocks with electric fencing by doing it ourselves. 14 gates, 3 perimeter entrances, about 3++ miles of fencing, up and back, down & around.

Then I bought a garage kit from Meeks Lumber and hired 2 helpers locally. The garage cost only about $15,000 when the local ‘contractors’ wanted %35,000. That cost includes feeding them because the nearest real food is about 17 miles away.

Who’s the dummy?

Mitt has 5 kids and lots of talented friends.

We don’t call ‘contractors’ unless we just have to, but then, out on ranches, we don’t buy our help very often.

putting deli employees and landscapers out of work.

You do not want 'landscapers' brought up in regards to Romney, he has a long history of using Guatemalan illegals for that work.

She is a peaceful one, saw a hammer and didn’t wanna get nailed, observed the saw but spiked a tree instead, picked up a level and decided to blow bubbles( No not Jackson’s chimp), plumb bobbing made her sea sick, wasn’t the sharpest sheet rock knife in the toolbox so made herself a screwdriver and, eh...going now

The contractor he hired to do his landscaping was caught using illegals. He told them to stop, they did it again, he fired them.

But you know all that....

There is a little more to this 11 year running scandal and the habit of Mitt Romney lying and deceiving, by the way, the naturalized Colombian that Mitt contracted with and pushed onto other family members was a fellow Mormon, and a personal connection.

Here is insight into Mitt’s natural dishonesty, my jaw dropped when I saw Mitt denying his illegals in the 2007 debate, and was not surprised what came of it a week later.

Governor Mitt and Ann, with all of his state resources and security, were interacting with the Guatemalan illegals at their private home for 10 years. The landscaper that the illegals worked for, was a naturalized Colombian himself, (A naturalized Colombian, Guatemalan illegals, and a sitting Governor), IDs better have been checked.

In December of 2006, the republican Governor was exposed, and suffered national embarrassment for using illegals for 10 years.

In December of 2007, in a national debate, Rudy Giuliani accused Mitt Romney of having run a “Sanctuary Mansion”. On national TV, Mitt Romney indignantly denied the claim.

A few days after the debate, the Boston Globe decided to look again at Mitt’s house, and guess what, they found Guatemalan illegals, they were working for the same Colombian, MITT HAD NEVER FIRED THEM!

Ten years and a national scandal, turned into 11 years, and a second national scandal, with all the same players, the same “contractor”, Guatemalan illegals, and the same Mitt Romney and his wife interacting with them at their home during the week.
