I know what you mean but the one Nobel that's been reduced to the level of an Emmy Award is the 'Peace Prize'. The other ones like for Economics and Physics still have prestige as they're based on reality and something ground breaking in the field. But when Arafat 'won' the Peace Prize, that was about it for that 'thing'.
Ditto for when the Communist Nelson Mandela won one. That sob and his wife Winny unleashed a rein of terror in South Africa that's still continuing.
