Huckabee: Media Amazingly Quiet Over Gas Price Increase

The media is showing bias in failing to give much attention to the rise in gasoline prices under President Barack Obama, says former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.

Gas prices now average $3.82 per gallon around the country, about double the level prevailing when Obama took office.

“When George [W.] Bush was president, we heard about gas prices every time,” Huckabee, now a radio talk show host told Fox News Monday, Politico reports.

“And they would take cameras to the pumps and have someone almost tearfully explaining that they were paying almost $2.50 a gallon. It’s amazing how quiet the media has been when gas prices are double what they were when President Obama took office. They’re the highest in the country’s history.”

Huckabee notes that consumers are paying $6 a gallon in some parts of California now. “When that hits people, it hits them hard,” he said. “That’s a gut-punch to Americans that I think they’ll remember on Election Day.”

I remember when Pelosi used gas prices to criticize George Bush. The media should be at her door every day about it now.

Yep, the ‘objective press’ doesn’t care about gas prices, food prices or the homeless when a democrat’s in office. And still journalist wonder why the public trusts used car salesmen more...

Of course the media are silent; they can’t cry out “Bush’s Fault!” anymore.

The media is an enemy of the United States and the ideals she stands for.

actually....it's the lead story here (in southern California) on every local news broadcast.

They usually have a CA politician telling the reporter that they are going to investigate why prices are so high and 1 or 2 people at the pump who blame "big oil". Ugh.

Voting for Obama, especially in California, is like taking a match to you cash. Obama’s policies hurt the poor far more than the rich. But Californians will flock to polls for Obama anyway to thank Fearless Leader for draining their wealth.

I blame Ted Kennedy. He wrote and sponsored the bill in the 60’s that changed the US immigration policy from favoring European types to 3rd world types. The reason was simple. Ignorant masses are mush more easily led by the nose to the gallows.

All well and good, but how is it that the same people who were outraged at prices when W was President are not outraged paying higher prices now? Are they that stupid that they need the media to tell them that they’re paying higher prices in order to be outraged? If so, that’s the 47% that Romney was talking about.

[...attention to the rise in gasoline prices...]

LOL, I’m sure anyone filling their tanks won’t have a clue what the price is unless the media tells them.

“Hey Maude, there’s something different here at the pumps but I can’t figure out what it is”
