Bellefonte, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- Former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky will likely spend the rest of his life in prison, after a judge handed down a prison sentence Tuesday for his convictions on child sexual abuse charges.
Judge John Cleland said Sandusky will face no less than 30 years and no more than 60 years, with credit for time served.
He was convicted in June of sexually abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period.
The 68-year-old had faced a maximum of 400 years in prison.

I agree with you completely about Sandusky — but not about Penn State. Please keep in mind that the president of PSU — I think his name was Spanier, or some such thing — was obsessed with promoting homosexuality on campus. If a professor dared utter a word the Spanier considered “homophobic,” the professor could be summarily fired. And if a student uttered such a word, he could be sentenced to sensitivity training or dismissed from school.
He should be raped 30 times with a hot poker before serving his sentence.
Spanier ran out PSU’s highly successful women’s basketball coach for being “homophobic.”

I hope the victims sue Sandusky and Penn State into bankruptcy.

Our local newspaper said he was going to be sent to a minimal security prison, and housed in the general population.
The prison officials have said there is a concern of Sandusky being assaulted but he will not be isolated from the other inmates.
It is just a local paper, so that info may or may not be correct.
(Personally if he is, I don’t care)
I don’t know about the rest of you all, but I’m thinking the sentence handed down is a little light. 30-60 years means he’ll almost definitely get parole at some point.
Since he likes sodomy I suspect he’ll be getting his fair share for being a child molester.
As big as he is, he's more likely to give some of the other prisoners what they deserve. But I think he'll be spending his time in solitary confinement.

Spanier had no problem with her 'no lesbians' policy as long as PSU was winning. The policy was well-known and in place for years and years - it had been the topic of a national newspaper story and an award-winning documentary.
Then, PSU lost in the first round of the NCAA to a much lower-ranked team and the coach dismissed a couple of lesbians from the team, one of who was a star player.
Questioned by the media, the PSU Athletic Department first denied that anybody had been dismissed, then said the dismissals were for lack of performance. There was a major brouhaha in the press that brought back up the old issues of 'no lesbians' that hadn't bothered Spanier. Spanier did nothing.
The faculty senate then stepped in and levied a fine on the coach. She refused to pay it and eventually resigned.
I can dig and find links to the stories if you desire - but as much as Spanier pushed the boundaries sexually, he wasn't about to rock the boat as long as the women's basketball coach was winning.

Judge John Cleland sentenced him to 30 year minimum to 60 years maximum in prison. Under Pennsylvania law, Sandusky cannot be released on parole before the minimum term is up.

At first glance, I don’t think so...this pervert freak seemed to like having the upper hand on helpless/weaker boys that he could easily control. He might not find being on the reverse end of the situation all that enjoyable - Especially when it’s three or more inmates beating the hell out of him while he’s being treated to a little of his own medicine.
The paper used the word ‘minimal’, maybe that’s differs from ‘minimum’.
I do not know what the differences between prisons and I do not know the answer to your question.
