Posted on 10/09/2012 9:11:20 AM PDT by Perdogg
Sesame Workshop is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.
Obozo has angered the big yellow bird.
He had better cease before bird sends in Snuffleupugus the Enforcer!
Wait till team obama hears about this. I bet they threaten to cut their funding...oh wait... nevermind...
Translation: They don’t want this to escalate to the point where Romney or Ryan put out a soundbyte that tells the public how much they are making on merchandising!
If only that were true.
Otherwise, Oscar is telling Bird to shut up before he blows their easy gig.
haha they stepped in it didn’t they. dumb O.
First AARP, then Big Bird.
I wonder if Biden will ask Romney to stop quoting him.
sure.. they’ll comply, just like the complied with NBC when they asked on Friday to remove their footage from an ad that has been running for the last five days.
>Michelle Obama and Jill Biden team up with Sesame Street
Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice-President Joe Biden, teamed up with Rosita and Elmo when they visited Sesame Street as part of the White House’s ‘Joining Forces’ Initiative in New York.
Sesame Workshop did not run the ad, 0bama did. If Sesame Workshop ran the ad, they would be in trouble with the IRS. In fact, even though they didn’t run the ad, they probably had to ask that the ad be pulled in order to maintain their tax exempt status, which they have done.
No tax consequences here for Big Bird.
If I remember correctly Big bird and the basket bunch gave Moochelle a real hard time that episode. Have a look.
LOL Big Bird throws Obama under the bus.
If people on FR have a beef with PBS for its programming or even its very existence, then fine...make your point, campaign for change. But its utterly reprehensible to slap them when they actually do the right thing. Surely that is the kind of behavior we should be applauding?
Check out #7 and #13 on this thread...
I want to see big Bird’s tax returns.
Big Bird effed Obama!
Har har. Dream on. Those 16,000 new jack booted thugs they are hiring are needed for the poor middle class people that can't afford health insurance thanks to ObamaCare destroying the private market.
Of course we can't blame Sesame Workshop for the ad. But keep in mind that PBS has been a thinly disguised propaganda arm of the Democrat Party for a long time.
And, I'm betting they are "doing the right thing" because it is politically expedient and want to avoid a PR disaster. I wouldn't give them too many kudos for be morally upright.
So has there been ANY campaign commercial for Obama that didn’t receive a cease-and-desist letter from someone/something portrayed in it?
GREAAT GREAT POSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Big Bird Backs Mitt Romney (satired)
LO FREAKIN loud ...LMAO
PBS about as Non Partisan as the Non partisan budget office, or the Non partisan Labor dept etc, or as non partisan as the AARP (see Art Linkletter/hero) About as Non partisan as yours truly
That word is already circulating on Facebook, and probably other sites as well.
And check out the video in #16, cracked me up!
Thanks barmag25 for the link.
So Obama has managed to tick off even Big Bird!
From 2008 -
‘Soul Man’ Sam Moore tells Obama to stop using his song
Ah good point!
You had best watch your tail feathers, Bird.
Why is Big Bird on that line? What happened to his hundreds of millions in merchandise sales?
After the great success of the “Tickle Me Elmo” doll I hear they’re coming out with a “Stay Away Obama” doll...
Downticket Dem candidates are snatching them up.
I don't want $4 dollar gasoline every time I fill my car.
I don't want government run health care and a health board of bureaucrats ruling on my treatments...........is Sebelius slimy or what?
I don't want my president running trillion dollar deficits so my children are bankrupt.
I don't want my president blaming a terrorist attack on an amateur film maker.
I don't want a president who apologizes for my beloved country.
I don't want a president who can't answer simple questions during a debate.
I don't want a president who attacks the producers and achievers of our nation.
I don't want a president who thinks that I who works 14 hours a day didn't "build " his business.
I don't want to be told what to feed my children by a woman with a protuberant backside (i am being kind here )
I don't want to pay for more of BO's bad business "picks" like Solyndra or the Volt.
Obama..........please get out now!!!!
Downticket Dem candidates are snatching them up."
I thought it was the "Bow-to-the-Arab Obama" doll!
From Sen. Jim DeMint via the Wall Street Journal:
“Sesame Street make millions on their own. “Sesame Street,” for example, made more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales from 2003-2006. Sesame Workshop President and CEO Gary Knell received $956,513 in compensation in 2008. With earnings like that, Big Bird doesn’t need the taxpayers to help him compete against the Nickleodeon cable channel’s Dora the Explorer.”
Anybody else would have been sued into the poor house for using BB in an ad without permission.
I LIKE it!
I can’t wait ‘til Biden ticks ‘Grouch’ off in the debate.
Ryan should have his kids dress up as Sesame Street characters.
christmas shopping season has begun. sesame Street doesn’t wanna lose the Republican parents from buying SS merchandise.
With the cops in the photo, I saw it as dirty-crooked liberals lined up to be thrown in jail. And PBS is ripping off the taxpayers of America.
This is all Bush’s fault.
The rats are jumping ship (PBS and AARP). They have been playing the messiah obammy routine because they thought they had 8 years of protection for their illegal partisan activity. Now they are not so sure.
Romney or Ryan should get it out that they are going to investigate problems with election fraud if they get power. It would be a shame for illegals to jepordize their eligibility for US citizenship by voting illegally in our elections and any NOI or Union thugs who harass people at voting places will be dealt with.
