Poll: Romney surges in Pennsylvania
The Washington Times ^ | October 9, 2012 | Dave Boyer

Mitt Romney's strong performance in the first presidential debate may have put Pennsylvania back in play, and closed the gap with President Obama in other battleground states.

A Siena Research Institute Poll on Tuesday showed the Republican nominee trailing Mr. Obama by only three percentage points, 43 percent to 40 percent, in the Keystone State. Other polls prior to the debate had shown Mr. Obama with as much as a 12-point lead.

"Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes suddenly appear to be up for grabs," said poll director Don Levy. "Romney not only has Republican support but now leads in vote-rich areas outside of Philadelphia and also in the central part of the state. With a month and two more debates to go, Pennsylvania's direction on the road to the White House remains in doubt."

The usual question is begged -— What is the D/R/I sampling breakdown of this Sienna poll?

The demographics of Philly are all against Romney and almost an auto Obama win...and Philly has no coal or gas in the game.

Now, if you could turn Philly....

It ain't gonna happen.

Changed his position on the natural gas fracking in PA. Obama now approves of the fracking in PA. Obama is also behind the Carlyle Group purchase of the Sunoco refinery in Philadelphia. Obama knew he was going to lose PA due to his war on fossil fuels and he made the strategic decision to change those positions, just for the state of PA.

The Carlyle group, of course is 25% owned by the public union pension funds of CA and NY. They are an Obama crony partner, no worse than that, the Carlyle Group is like a private / public partnership, with the government acting as the board of directors.

On the first day of operation, the Carlyle Group execs, told the union workers to thank Obama for their jobs.

The dems may need to get 300% turnout in Philly.

Plus fiscal conservatives in the suburbs of Philly are genuinely angry about the economy, and haven’t been sucked into social issues like Romney not openly supporting abortion, despite Obama’s best attempts to do so.

I know many people who thought Bush was a fundamentalist whackjob who are seriously considering voting for Romney.

Republicans have never won Philadelphia since FDR. Even in 1972 when Nixon carried a near 20 point margin, Philadelphia was the only county who voted for McGovern.

If you can pick up the suburban counties like Delaware, Chester, Bucks, and Montgomery, then you can pull of a win like 1988.

“I’ll open with 1 Obama phone”

“I see your Obama phone and raise you 1 natural gas and 1 coal. Read em and weep”.
