- Obama believes he'd got the better of Romney as he walked off stage to the dismay of his aides, according to a Democrat close to the campaign - The President failed to prepare properly, opting instead to visit the Hoover Dam the day before the showdown - Democrat claims he was so disdainful of Romney that he didn't think he needed to even engage with him - Had one-liners on 47% prepared but chose not to use them

watching his debate against Mitt Romney already knew it had been a disaster for him.

But what nobody knew, until now, was that Obama believed he had actually won.

In an extraordinary insight into the events leading up to the 90 minute showdown which changed the face of the election, a Democrat close to the Obama campaign today reveals that the President also did not take his debate preparation seriously, ignored the advice of senior aides and ignored one-liners that had been prepared to wound Romney.

He believes there are 59 states so what else is new..

Hey, let's not take any cheap shots at our president.

He, in fact, believes that there are 57 states.

Makes you wonder, who has actual control of the nuclear football? The Golfer-in-Chief could just have been given a dummy one.

“Obama could only smirk and look downward.”

Maybe he was trying to diss Romney - to convey his disdain and contempt by deliberately smirking at his remarks while not bothering to look him in the eye. IOW, a subtler version of his infamous “one-fingered gesture”.

Malignant Narcissist! He always believes the best of himself. I recall BOR asking BO how he felt about the people who hated him. His reply? ‘I don’t think anyone hates me’. Totally delusional!

If I was President Romney I would fill the press room on day one with Bloggers and reporters like MKH, Katie Pavlich, Ed Henry, and I might include Jake Tapper. The rest of the Obama worshippers would be relegated to the back of the room and given no real chance to ask questions for a while. I think they will turn on Romney so fast as an excuse to claim they learned their lesson and are now doing the reporting that needs to be done. Starve the big networks and let the masses look for news by driving them to OUR sources of honest reporting.

“But what nobody knew, until now, was that Obama believed he had actually won.”

He believed all he had to do was show up and “they” would all cover for him...the usual spin.

Then he found out Tingles went ballistic and comedians were making jokes — that’s when he knew.

“Who still believes that Americans root for the underdog?”

Yeah, but he’s not an underdog. He’s POTUS - whether we like it or not.

“strong and resilient?”

More like weak and pathetic.

There’s more than one instance of this ... ignored his military advisers on Afghanistan - they wanted two fighting seasons, he would only agree to one. The guy puts himself and his re-election above the welfare of the country. He’s doing the same thing with the Benghazi murders.

I actually thought Romney was speaking of 47 percent of obama’s voters would never vote for him; however, it looks like there are 47 percent dependent on govt, so maybe he meant 47 percent of all voters - I don’t know.

Anyway, if obama brings it up, Romney will have an opening to offer a sincere apology to all who didn’t take it lightly. He’s already come out and said he shouldn’t have said it.

Yeah they’re just throwing things at the wall hoping something will stick.
There’s a thread about the media wishing the Obama campaign would shut up about the debate LOL!

He can walk on two feet?

This is step one of his msm buddies walking this mess back for him. Before it’s over we’ll find out he actually did win the debate.

I love how Axelrod says that Obama focuses on substance not performance, but then the article says that Obama had one-liners and zingers that Obama didn't use.

It sounds more like a debate by punchline to me.

He also thinks he’s the best president of all time. And there are a few other turds in this country that think the same thing.

Bernie Goldberg with some insight:

And then on to election matters and the presidential debate. The media generally agreed that Mitt Romney won and “that’s not a small point,” Goldberg argued, but that’s the same media that’s been Obama’s “most loyal base.”

Thus, that tells us something: While the media are “willing to cover” for Obama, “they will not let Barack Obama embarrass them…[or] make them look more pathetic or more stupid than usual.”

Pathological narcissism. It's an actual mental disorder.
