"You have to scratch your head when the president spends the last week talking about saving Big Bird," he said. "I actually think we need to have a president who talks about saving the American people and saving good jobs."

Excellent retort by Romney, and the one by the RNC was great too.
The only thing that would make that video funnier would be about 8 cups of coffee..ahaha
I love the way that quick example by Romney really discombobulated -bama’s whole campaign. Instead of trying to recover by discussing issues that people really care about his campaign is spending money airing commercials about an innane subject, and using an agency, PBS, who is objecting to their being used by his campaign! Meanwhile, Romney is able to say, “These guys are spending time and money discussing Big Bird instead of Libya and Jobs? It shows that they are not serious about the office.”
This has worked out to be the ultimate “bait and switch”. I wonder if that was the intention all along by Romney and his campaign.
Oh crap I remember Romper Room! Thanks for reminding me how old I am.
This legal plunder may be only an isolated stain among the legislative measures of the people. If so, it is best to wipe it out with a minimum of speeches and denunciations and in spite of the uproar of the vested interests.
But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them, and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime.
Then abolish this law without delay, for it is not only an evil itself, but also it is a fertile source for further evils because it invites reprisals. If such a law which may be an isolated case is not abolished immediately, it will spread, multiply, and develop into a system.
The person who profits from this law will complain bitterly, defending his acquired rights. He will claim that the state is obligated to protect and encourage his particular industry; that this procedure enriches the state because the protected industry is thus able to spend more and to pay higher wages to the poor workingmen.
Do not listen to this sophistry by vested interests. The acceptance of these arguments will build legal plunder into a whole system. In fact, this has already occurred. The present-day delusion is an attempt to enrich everyone at the expense of everyone else; to make plunder universal under the pretense of organizing it.

Good point. This Romney crew is showing more savvy and dexterity than we got out of McCain in 2008, which shouldn’t surprise anyone.
What’s on the menu at Chick-fil-A?
LOL! Me too.
What about Bozo the Clown and Mr. Greenjeans--am I remembering that right? And who was the children's host who gave lettuce to the ducks? On topic--Romney is on fire and momentum is growing.
I remember both.
I grew up in Jersey City so I watched a lot of syndicated shows from NY. Officer Joe Bolton, Wonderama with Sonny Fox, Chuck McCann and Zacherly who hosted bad horror movies and had an amoeba brain made out of jello.
Old Roland / Zacherly.
I can remember watching him on a black and white TV .....
Thanks for that memory
Me too. Apparently he's still alive in his nineties.
does Obama even care that people don’t want to hear another word about big bird, but instead are SERIOUS and want to hear a serious discussion about what plans Obama has for their future?!
(rhetorical of course)
Are you old enough to remember being scared by Crabby Appleton?
Looks a bit like George Soros, doesn't he?
