Very sad about Monterrey, Mexico. I understand that was a beautiful place at one time.

Hey, those cities are where I have for years been going for vacation! NOTHING HAPPENS!

My safety in thiose dangerous places is directly related to the fact that I lost ALL of my semi auto pistols overboard during a hunting trip on Lake Champlain.

As one poster at BI said:

Note to self — avoid Brazil and Mexico.

To which I respond -— if you have free tickets to the 2016 Olympics, can I use it instead?

I’ve been to San Juan but stayed in the Old City, which was perfectly safe. And I felt safer in Tel Aviv than I did in my own living room!

I’m kind of surprised to see that Juarez is only #2. That’s a hell hole if there ever was one. I was stationed down at Fort Bliss for a while, back in the 60s, and we were warned NEVER to go over there for a drink.

Rio and vicinity is the only part of Latin America I’ve ever visited and now that I’ve seen it (it’s a beautiful city) I’ll never again set foot anywhere in “Latin America”.Ditto South Africa. As for Detroit and St Louis...never again.

Washington DC belongs at the top of the list.

The idiots there are responsible for more death than all of the other cities combined.

Where’s D.C.? Specifically The Hill area. D.C. is proving itself to be the most dangerous city of all time.

Reading the comments, you get the idea that “official” murder rates are not particularly well kept in other parts of the world.

What if I just hang out on the beach in Brazil? You know and check out the, uh, condition of the sand?

The Permanent War Against Evil continues.

BTW it is remarkable how many multi-million cities there are that I never heard of and there are many more in China and India no doubt.

Acapulco and Cuernavaca are on the list too. All formerly beautiful vacation spots in a beautiful country, now ruined! Glad I have seen Mexico because I am never going back.

Our family hunted in South Texas for many years and went across the border to Neuevo Laredo or Piedres Negras almost every weekend. Glad we all survived.

Heck . .you don’t have to go to Juarez to be a victim (http://www.elpasotimes.com/news/ci_20015986).

Not only was city hall hit with bullets. . .my parents’ condo has also been hit from shots out of Juarez.

The only South American country I would consider going to is Chile.
