Beyoncé is one of the biggest stars in the country, a beautiful singer at the top of her profession.
She isn't an A-list movie star... yet.
Her work in the celebrated "Dreamgirls" didn't make that happen, nor did appearances in "The Pink Panther," "Obsessed" or "Austin Powers in Goldmember."
Clint Eastwood could have changed all that. The actor/director wanted Beyoncé to star in his planned remake of "A Star Is Born." Any Eastwood project is instantly Oscar bait, and his track record suggests he could have transformed the stunning chanteuse into an A-lister with just one film.
Now, we'll never know.
Beyoncé has backed out of the Eastwood production, citing the proverbial scheduling issues. It's certainly possible, but what star wouldn't clear his or her schedule to secure such a plum role?

Sorry, won’t buy into the obligatory “Beyonce is beautiful” crap. Without her make-up, wigs, and extensions, Beyonce is just another harsh looking hip-gyrator with a butt big enough to park a double-wide.
A Star is Born? How many times they gonna remake that one? The last version with Babs Striesand and Kris Krisstofferson was just awful - so Clint has nowhere to go but up.

Of course in a few more years when she is on the Madonna Career track (As in career "going down" faster than a 3 dollar hooker) she'll want to rethink the move of snubbing Eastwood.

She has no class. She was more than happy to sing “At Last” at Obama’s inauguration. A person with class would have stepped aside and let Etta James sing it.

I think it is an issue of contracts.
One face de jour contract expires and is easily replaced by the next one. As soon as the contract expires, if they demand more money or have not hit a financial bonanza, then they can be replaced by ANYONE to sell the same amount of product.

I hate the oversing. The irony is that they actually have good voices (Christina has a great voice) and dont need the oversing at all.
