....TheBlaze decided to speak with experts at some of Americas leading universities. One academic, a professor at Duke University, provided a candid assessment, but asked to remain off-the-record. Based on the images and analysis present in the WND report, he said that the script present on Obamas ring appears to be Arabic and that it does, indeed, include the first portion of the shahada.
I think this is accurate, he said of the description surrounding the ring.

The article does a song and dance about how this might just prove Zero's "monotheism."
Horsehockey.
Pretty sure close-up photos of this have dispproved this as a myth.

Not that Obama is not a muslim, mind you.
Three times already today on FR.
And that's not counting all of the previous threads.
This is some Corsi inspired thing to sell a book (IMO)
I believe Obama’s word - he told George Stephanopoulous on at least one occasion that he was a follower of Islam (my Muslim faith). He also told the UN that “ the future must not belong to those that slander the Prophet of Islam”
No one that wasn’t an enemy combatant would have said that. IMO
Well, OK, I’m assuming that the photo is legit.
What’s the ring all about, then? What’s the symbolism, if any? I’ve never seen anything like it. ???? More questions than answers here.
Ash nazg durbatuluk Ash nazg gimpatul Ash nazg thrakatuluk Agh burzum ishi krimpatul.
(From memory)
One Ring to Rule them all One Ring to find them One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
What we have seen is a gazillion of the useful idiots trying to sell the notion that when Obama is yelling about Allah, it simply means he’s a Christian.
looks like he bashed it pretty good against something like a cinder block..
“Obama either likes Allah or snakes.”
Probably both.
But his ring doesn’t have to do with allah, at least not on the outside.

The Blaze spoke to an expert, who confirmed the inscription.
I post the following link as an example of an abstract style of Arabic calligraphy that read “There is no god but Allah and Muhammed is his prophet.”

If it looks like a communist, sounds like a communist and rules like a communist...it’s a communist.
No you are wrong about that and don’t listen to “urban legend”. Either they do’t know what they’re talking about or they’re another obama apologists. As an Iranian American I know when I see allah, and that shape on the ring while inscriptive and artistically rendered comes very close to a sly depiction of the word allah in arabic. And the urban legend excuse that in Indonesia where the ring was purchased they don’t speak or write arabic, might be true but the symbol of allah is universally depicted and worn in its arabic form. so that alone should make urban legend explanation suspect.
Here's a high-def photo of the ring:
Notice how WND uses even shadows to 'find' the Arabic. The ring's design is undulating continuous lines, not Arabic script. We don't even have a name for the Duke professor.
If you want to find Arabic in that, go at it.
There are too many things Obama has done and is doing to be led astray by this story.
apologist
The symbolism, well, I don't know of anyone who wears a snake ring as a wedding ring.
And I can't understand how a wife would allow her husband to wear what looks to be a snake ring that he wore before she knew him.
Here are some samples of snake rings for guys:
Obama's ring does not look like anything made in the west. It is either Indonesian or from the middle east.
... and yes, I know about Snopes, etc, etc.
Ah, the good old days. When FReepers were laughing at the Muslims who protested the “Allah” they claimed they saw on the top of that pudding cup lid . . .
