Posted on 10/11/2012 5:10:45 PM PDT by kristinn
All debates will take place from 9:00-10:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Vice presidential debate:
Thursday, October 11
Centre College, Danville, KY
Moderator: Martha Raddatz, Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent, ABC News
YouTube w/ ABC News/Yahoo! coverage
Agree. Overall, Biden a net negative for Obama tonight. Ryan the adult, articulate, didn't take the bait to demean himself to Biden's level. Stayed focused and on task with verifiable data. Impressive and might I say Presidential. He's young, but I can see him being President someday.
the bride moderator has now had 3 weddings...she is currently on hubby #3 and she will turn 60 in Feb. 2013..life in the MSM is rough on those girls...
That’s an insult to Joe Isuzu ;)
The channel MOST people watch debates on; FoxNews!
Smirking, laughing and telling people to ‘RELAAAAAXX’ when talking about Iran’s nuke potential.. SERIOUSLY?? WTF A F’ING MORON WOULD DO THAT? BIDEN, THAT’S WHO!
...be the next Romney commercial...
Would need to be one hell of a long commercial just to fit them all in.
People who fervently support B/B will think that he did well, people who fervently support R/R will think the same for their slate. Each candidate got their slates’ points out to the public.
The deciders are the uncommiteds and the persuadables.
If the debate were basically to be considered a draw on substance, it comes down to demeanor [style] - and that is where Biden lost. The majority of uncommiteds and persuadables did not like what Biden did.
In 1960, historians generally agree that Nixon won on substance in the first debate.
HOWEVER, the public declared that Kennedy “won” that debate - and it was basically on style. Kennedy was well-rested and tanned. Nixon was sick with the flu and was sweating under the bright lights of the studio.
He treated Palin the same way. What kind of wine?
Jim says we need new equipment and he's waiting for John to put it in. He said he didn't know when John would do that. So, we are SOL until that happens.
It did crash, at least at my end, so I wasn’t able to get on. Listening to the pundits, the smirk, laughter and condescending attitude may have backfired on good ole Joe! It was difficult not to get up and turn it off.
We had no idea that they needed more security!

See this response from Jim:
Thanks; appreciate the reply. Hope you guys solve the problem pretty soon.
I couldn’t even get here. I decided to watch the debate without benefit of FR.
Maybe related to exhausted OS/network stack resources.
Load balanced web-servers in front of a clustered DB server might be a good option.
If Chicoms can hack into the WH system, AND channel tons of illegal contributions to Bambi, they are certainly capable of attacking any web site that opposes their Dear Puppet’s reelection.
by the way are you voting ROMNEY~RYAN on Nov. 6 ???
I’m already sending it around. You are on top of things, thanks.
I was raised in a Walker family...my grandfather was big into it
i’ve got the land and the kids and finally took the plunge
i enjoy it more than i thought i would
some horses are inspiring..majestic..and I like riding..but i also enjoy the ground game...brushing them...just tending to them and talking to them
we had an old one..a 16 hand Walker mare who lived till 34 or so...died of hoof infection after stepping on broke glass in the barn
guess which 11 year old broke the ball jar...man I always carried guilt over that
and now warn my kids not to leave crap in the pasture or barn
my aunt ..whose horse it was..lives near us up here now and doesn’t even remember me doing that...but I do
Iran can buy the weapon from the Norks or rogue ISI Pakistanis.
i do love autumn...i cannot lie
i told Annette...dang why sit and stare at FOX when we can sit outside...around 50 degrees and enjoy a fire and some nice Joe and the fresh air
and our big pals hanging around for some sweet feed
plus we get quiet time from the Wild bunch in the house
but it was apparently quite a different interpretation strictly by ear wasn’t it?
Joe Biden: Proof that term limits are necessary to prevent mental illness
Thank truthluva for it.
I just replied to it.
You were right on the money with that call.
Checking in — Ryan did great! Couldn’t do live thread — we were at our local GOP HQ with Gov Sandoval watching the debate!
- Joe Biden on Benghazi
Remember that Obama and Biden are the guys slashing our military to pre-WWI levels. After the next attack on our shores, they will claim they had no idea we needed security. Will Joe still be laughing as he tells us? How many more American fatalities will be bumps in the road for them?
IMO the next commercial should be Biden’s laughter at important issues coupled with pictures of Obam’s digital comments. “THE REASON BIPARTISANSHIP IS DEAD IN DC!” sums it up.
I shut it down and went to bed about 2330, so just saw them this morning.
Jim, you and John have my very best of wishes for figuring out the kink in the hose, whatever/wherever it is.
As a diagnostic fyi, while FR was crawling last night, my weather sites, work-related stuff, zap tv, etc were all zipping along, so it wasn't just general grousing due to slow gear here.
Anyway .. happy TGIF to one and all :-)
I didn't mean to imply that Nixon did anything comparable to Biden. His only "gaffe" was that he refused to use makeup, so his 5 o'clock shadow was obvious, and compared to the photogenic Kennedy, he looked terrible. In fact, I read that he had been in the hospital not long before the debate, and may not have been fully recovered. It was said that Nixon won on substance, but Kennedy won on optics, hence the radio vs. TV comments.
Monk—that is a great photoshop in #1191—Raddatz as the biker chick sitting on Biteme’s lap.
Nice Touch with Ryan put in leather as the chick’s disaffected “friend”.
OMG—I had such a laugh when I got up this morning and saw your great handiwork! Thanks!
Freepers—please send this graphic far and wide.
There is a short four day window to make hay over Biden’s horrendous performance before the next Romney-Zippy debate.
Make no mistake—Biden’s disrespect will be the talk of the country—and how Ryan could be President, in folk’s eyes who are not as familiar as we are with the political topics.
Romney and Ryan should hammer Joe’s uncivility as a prime example of the partisanship and tone in DC the Democrats routinely engage in, the Obama/Reid/Pelosi tactics of lockout, etc.
Let’s make the most of it.
I tried all through the debate to get on the thread and put in my two cents. Not once was I sucessful. Very disappointing.
It would be worth A LOT of money to the Democrat party to put this site out of commission on days like yesterday.
I wouldn't be surprised if they have "people" on salary to deal with the "problem".
I'm just sayin'.
I remember him as actually civil to Palin —
It was a malbec ....;) My new favorite.
Couldn’t get on this thread last night after the debate but I’ve just scrolled through all the responses. Biden was a disgrace, our enemies must be laughing all the way to the weapons cache. Our country won’t survive 4 more years of Obama/Biden. I did think of one reason Biden was laughing so much. Maybe he was overcompensating because he reminds so many people of Walter, Jeff Dunham’s grouch puppet. He was like Walter on happy pills with a vodka chaser.
You should have watched the GOP convention Ryan spoke then. Go to you tube and find Ryan speaking it’s all there.
Aim him right up the middle.
I know Joe is a pragmatic fellow.
“He came across as such an ass people have been turned off.”
On CNN this morning, Erik Erickson said that Mary could have ridden Joe Biden to Bethlehem.
I apologize for bouncing that FReepathon graphic off of your post. I usually post to #0 but got lazy while trying to follow the debate.
Thank you very much for your long standing support of FR.
Somebody on FNC this morning said Joe must have taken a 5 Hour Energy drink. But it ran out 1/2 hour before the end of the debate.
Thank you for voting!
Joe Biden 46.9%
Paul Ryan 53.1%
Last night was a mess, both politically and technically .. frustration levels were high all'round.
>On CNN this morning, Erik Erickson said that Mary could have ridden Joe Biden to Bethlehem.<
Bwaaahaaahaahaa! Now that is the ultimate put down. I like Eric. He’s a bright guy. I’m glad he’s on our side (well, usually).
“I tried all through the debate to get on the thread and put in my two cents. Not once was I sucessful. Very disappointing.”
I couldn’t access FR either.
“ryan has a mouth he can say something to address the interrupting”
Capitalization and punctuation are our friends. Grammar, logic and rhetoric—the Trivium, dear heart, are intended to assist in communication.
As in debates, when one of the participants comes in determined to `poison the well’ then, unfortunately, everyone loses.
I watched the last part of the debate with a sinus headache. Debates are supposed to help the citizens. Joe queered it for everyone by acting like a pompous jerk.
Ryan comported himself like a man Joes’s age while Joe acted much as we anticipated he would: Joe was a senior-citizen, frat rat—with a load on.
