Yeah, we should never have gotten mixed up in this Syrian thing, we should have stayed out of it.

Had we not had a Treasonous Media and Democrat Party we could have eliminated a lot of these dangers when Bush was in office. By turning the majority against the elimination of our enemies it allowed a lot of the terrorist infrastructure to escape. We are watching it now take over Egypt, Syria, Libya and grow in other parts of the ME and Africa. And The Disaster is either clueless or deliberately abetting its regrowth.

If the Iranians have had the compact warhead design since the 90’s, then how on earth can we / “our intelligence” be so sure they could not put something together fairly quickly?

Biden seems to think the Iranian nuke scientists and engineers are no more clever than he is.

Probably wrong about what - ?

Do you mean that when I hear Romney’s take on the Islam/Muslim problem, I WON’T then know who he is - ?
‘fraid I’m not getting it - - I am tired . . .

‘Must be careful. Not simple - -’

Right.
Don’t think I’ll see a peaceful solution to the Muslim problem in my lifetime. . .

We also have to get through the rest of November, December and two thirds of January.

Please, first things first, then as you state all of us will try to get there to January 20. Have to do the first things first, or the rest is lost.

“Don’t think I’ll see a peaceful solution to the Muslim problem in my lifetime.” No we won’t.

It has been 1300+ years and counting since this abomination began.

I agree with your sentiments but the fact of the matter is there is almost nothing, anywhere, that we can avoid getting involved in in, one way or the other. Even our inaction would be an action on one side or the other.

Our best interests here would seem to dictate that we keep Assad in power. As we should have stuck with Mubarek and The Colonel in Libya. If our interest, at one time, could dictate that we ally with Stalin and aid Saddam against Iran, it isn’t a stretch to aid Assad.

Power politics dictates policies which do not always seem consistent with morality or religion; see the British policy in the ME in the 19th century wrt Russia vs the Turk.

The complexity and enormity of the situation there demand The Disaster must go. But RR are not going to inherit a pleasant task, maybe not even a winnable one.

There's a bit of a difference between having the plans and having the technical ability to pull it off. Some of the specific components are difficult to make. For instance, the explosives lab they have been trying to conceal would deal with the portion imploding and compressing the "pit."

If it's not done with precision and you don't have the proper refined materials, you get a dud or a "fizzle."

In my opinion, that's what we've seen with the NK tests. I'm guessing their reprocessed plutonium isn't as pure as it needs to be, nor is the triggering mechanism precise enough to provide the proper yield. I am almost certain the Norks and Iranians are working hand in hand to resolve the problem.

Iran was part of the nuclear weapons proliferation ring of A.Q. Khan, father of the Pakistani bomb. Several Countries, including North Korea, were sharing technology and emphasizing different components of the total program. Pakistanis have proven designs and a fleet of warheads deployed, and a long common border with Iran across which smuggling of “stolen” items can occur. Iran also hosts senior alQueda leaders who are otherwise perhaps most comfortable and secure in Pakistan.

Apparently, lots of Iranian Gov’t types travel to N. Korea, and North Korea can and does conduct live nuclear weapon tests. They could probably do a few for a friend if the price is right, and they need oil../p>

Bottom Line: Iran may not have to make everything homegrown to breakout with deployable weapons. The fissionable material is a highly accountable commodity though.

Could we start by not supporting al-Qaeda?
You’re right we should not have doublecrossed Mubarak and Quaddafi. Mubarak was an ally of the U.S. for decades, who supported peace with Israel. Now we have the Muslim Brotherhood to deal with.
As for Quaddafi, we made peace with the man, and then we doublecross him. And for what? To allow Muslim radicals to take control, and for our ambassador to be killed?
It makes me sick that in Syria, a 2,000 year old Christian community may be on the verge of elimination. The Assad regime actually has one of the best records on religious freedom in the Middle East.

You brought up a thought would like to share and/or ask of you an opinion. n.korea is a type of incubator where the lights are out all day and all night. Those in n.korea have adjusted and have had years to perfect a method of life without electrical conveniences many societies and cultures have enjoyed. To some extent other nations also have sections of their nations in the dark during day and night. Are there implications, where if the lights would go out for the civilized world, those people who have lived in the dark could be deployed for certain purposes? After thinking further, am wondering if china is doing this for preparation purposes, sinister in nature. Those who have experience, in the dark, would be most useful in a world gone dark (a personal opinion). Any thoughts?

One would wish that a minimum would be not arming al Queda and providing some protection to the Christians there.

Neocons are equally in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood’s Democracy Jihad. Romney supported the opposition in Libya and now Syria.
