Virginia: Romney 49%, Obama 47%
Friday, October 12, 2012
Mitt Romney now has a two-point lead in Virginia.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Virginia Voters shows Romney with 49% of the vote, while President Obama earns 47% support. One percent (1%) likes another candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Last week, it was Romney 49%, Obama 48% in Virginia. The state, considered nearly essential to a Romney win, remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.
A month ago, Obama held a slight 49% to 48% lead in Virginia. The candidates have been within two points or less of each other in every survey here since April.

Run like you are 20 points behind...ALL THE WAY TO THE ELECTION.
Yesterday I drove south on Route 15 in Virginia from the Potomac River bridge (Lovettsville) to Warrenton. That’s about 40 miles. I saw many Romney signs and not one, repeat not one, Obummer sign along the way. It’s entirely possible that Obummer will get crushed in VA, though we should certainly not become complacent.
Good report. Thanks, Kevin. I hope your area, southwest VA, and other areas will bury the federalistas in northern VA so that it will be a solid repudiation of Obummer.
None of the polls will state that Vir. and Ohio are solid Romney until the election, they know that would mean Romney has won.
