After appealing to the good will and fairness of the Boy Scouts of America to lift its ban on gays, LGBT advocates have a new tactic: Go after the organization’s major funders, from Fortune 500 companies to the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. And so far, the new strategy seems to be working.
The group Scouts for Equality, founded by former Eagle Scout Zach Wahls, recently convinced Intel, the Boys Scouts’ largest corporate funder, to cut off support for Scout councils that don’t have LGBT-inclusive nondiscrimination policies.
And this week, a spokesman for the Human Rights Campaign told Dallas Voice that HRC is looking at ways to penalize companies for contributions to organizations like the Boy Scouts in the annual Corporate Equality Index.
Under Intel’s new rule, local Boy Scout troops and councils that do not discriminate and refuse to comply with the official Boy Scouts policy are still eligible for funds.
BSA stands to lose $700,000 a year from Intel.
“We have no problem with councils that have stated nondiscrimination policies,” said Wahls, a straight ally who was raised by two moms.
Since the Intel victory, Scouting for Equality has picked its next target — UPS, which gave the Boy Scouts $167,000 in 2010.
Although UPS is not the next-largest funder of the Scouts, Wahls said the company is highly visible, the Christmas package delivery season is approaching and of its total donation, $100,000 went directly to national headquarters.
Other major funders of the Boy Scouts include local United Way chapters, which may or may not take the Scouts’ ban on gays into account.
“Some United Ways are doing that by their own volition,” Wahls said.

Churches need to step up and donate. Stop funding left wing or moderate “causes” or ministeries, especially those that aren’t very effective or cost efficient. Give the Scouts not just financial support but a vote of confidence that we won’t give in to blackmail for peds and other creeps.

When will business figure out the only 1 to 3% of Americans fit into the LGBT category? What is the cost of pandering this small but vocal group?
I don’t know why these LGwhatevers don’t just create their own groups instead of trying to change everyone else? Should the NAACP have to accept the KKK as members? It’s called ‘right to associate with whomever you want to and DON’T want to.’
Shows the sick state of affairs our country is in, when corporations are confronted with decisions to support an honorable institution that teaches true moral guidance like the Boy Scouts, or to cower to the salivating pervs and child-molesters who want to prey upon its young members... and choose to side with the latter.
Evil has really gotten a stranglehold in this country, from the government corridors to the corporate boards to the vile poison of pop-culture. Almost a total sea-change from a few short generations ago.

They don't care about the good scouting does, they don't care about the good Marriage does, they care about forcing their perverted beliefs on those who disagree.
In 1787 we killed these people whenever we discovered one. By the 1960s we just locked them up in mental institutions. Nowadays, we let them dictate social policy to the rest of the nation.

Do what the perverts are doing, and fight back. Write Intel, UPS, and other companies bowing to this liberal political correctness and chide them for bowing to such perverted tactics to allow the stalking gays to “conquer” the Boy Scouts.
We probably can’t hurt Intel, financially, but we can let them know what the majority of Americans think about this tail-wagging-the-dog nonsense.
Many will not agree with my feelings, but if the Boy Scouts cannot survive without money supplied by funders who support faggots and pedophiles, I would rather see them close their doors than give in, than be a training school for Socksuckers & Fudge packers.
INTEL....you should be ASHAMED nd NOTHING good will come out of this.
Of course, it needs a firm response from decent Americans.
