No ones denying that Joe Biden delivered the more energetic performance in Thursdays vice presidential debate. He interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times in 90 minutes. Yet some polls say that Ryan won and many pundits are calling it a draw. How come?
Two reasons. First, deconstruct the Biden bluster and some of what he said was nonsensical. In the first 10 minutes alone, Joe insisted that the US intelligence community was wrong on Libya but trustworthy on Iran. He claimed that the staff at the Benghazi embassy didnt want extra security when lots of sources say that they begged for it. He seemed to rule out war with Iran under any circumstances, which would remove Americas one bargaining chip. As political klutzes go, Biden is to talking what Gerald Ford was to walking.
More importantly, Biden was rude. Perhaps he was trying to emulate Romneys dominant performance from the week before. But where Romney was commanding, Biden was just insulting. The most damning moments came when the camera went split screen. On the right was Ryan trying to make a serious point about world peace. On the left was Biden laughing. The Vice Presidents performance will doubtless rally the party faithful and give them a few applause lines to live off through to November. But its hard to imagine independents warming to these theatrics.
The Democrats have made the classic mistake of thinking that what they want to see is what everyone else wants to see. This isnt peculiar to the Obama/Biden ticket but part of a long-term evolution. Back in 2000, Al Gore huffed and puffed his way angrily through a presidential debate and possibly cost his party the election. The Democrats ought to have learned from that, but .....

So much for ‘civility’.
Next Biden will prank call Ryan in the middle of the night.
Democrats have no sense of shame.
Interrupted 82 times by Biden in 90 minutes. And an additional 31 times by Raddatz.
They’ve been angry and rude for quite some time. I even see it in some “friends” of mine. Just anger and hateful spite, then they go home and live otherwise as conservatives. Why they can’t see the forest for the trees is beyond me, but several of them run their own small businesses and they just hate Republicans, especially conservative ones.
It’s so bad we don’t even talk politics. I don’t bring it up and neither do they. Friendship prevails but so many times I’d like to ask them “how’s that Hope n Change n Unity workin out for us”?
That would really PO them. Angry, bitter, hypocritical.
First they were the party that booed God. Now they’re the rude party. Aren’t you proud, Dems?
Only because the flaming bag of dog turds is beyond his technical competence.
Democrats have no sense of shame. Democrats have no sense of shame.There. Fixed it!
Here is a great word that Dems and libs like at the moment- bully.
When someone constantly interrupts you, belittles you with gales of laughter, smirks, guffaws, windmills their arms to distract you, that person is deliberately trying to shut you up. He’s being a bully.
The Vice President of the United States of America should be above making NEENER NEENER faces during a debate. Pathetic!
Shame is something that people driven by moral values exhibit. It flows from humility--a realistic assessment of the supreme importance of things beyond the ken of mere man. Those who deny God's reality do not even comprehend the concept.
I have observed the Biden method of debate, many many times through the years. To give the devil his due, Biden was "better" at it than most. That is not really a great compliment. It was very, very bad behavior.
Rush did a great job today explaining the insufferable Plugs that some Americans saw for the first time, is what we conservatives have known for decades. He is a corrupt and foul first order demagogue and perfectly reflects the values of his party.
“When someone constantly interrupts you, belittles you with gales of laughter, smirks, guffaws, windmills their arms to distract you, that person is deliberately trying to shut you up. Hes being a bully.”
That also describes a good many ex-wives. ;>)
They've been that way for a long time. Take a look at their constituency and it clear why.
Joe Biden: Plagiarizer-In-Chief "....Exhibiting a partisan shamelessness unlike anything I had ever seen, Senator Biden launched pointed question after pointed question at Clarence Thomas. He hurled insults, unfounded accusations, and sarcasm-laden diatribes at Justice Thomas, who endured the shameful spectacle with the dignity and grace we have come to expect from him. Biden literally spent three days leading the despicable charge to discredit a brilliant, decent, fair-minded black mansimply because he didnt like his politics. (In truth, the motivation behind these disgusting attacks was the lefts attempt to destroy someone who they saw as a potential threat to Roe v. Wade).."
Lucky for us the ABC camera man and production staff were just as big a jerks as the rest of the biased, corrupt liberal assh*les. If we hadn't seen Biden on the split screen we wouldn't understand what a jerk Biden was... guess the suck ups at ABC overplayed their hands. Maybe NBC can doctor the tapes for them - to make it 'better'... and the 'oh so talented' writers at the New York Times can re-write Biden's lies so they sound .... well, more convincing. These lowlifes have to work together... to keep the scam going.

Since Ryan only got 40 minutes, this works out to an interruption every 21 seconds.
"..................Conservatives who think progressives are misinformed idealists will forever be blind-sided by the malice of the leftby the cynicism of those who pride themselves on principle, by the viciousness of those who champion sensitivity, by the intolerance of those who call themselves liberal, and by the ruthless disregard for the well-being of the downtrodden by those who preen themselves as social saints....." I thought about that and whether someone’s head would roll for the debates split-screen decision. Perhaps they were hoping for that one good “gotcha” shot of Romney or of Ryan (all others would hit the round file) that they could run over and over again.
Biden is a creep.
This should be no surprise to freedom loving people. The RATS are socialist/marxist/ communist in their beliefs. Typical is to shout down their opponents by demeaning them and preventing the truth. This is right out of the Alinsky playbook.
That way he has of jabbing the air toward you while he’s talking is unnerving (and he holds a sharp object in his hand too).
Biden is a crapweasel and shouldn’t be next in line for the presidency.
No! Really? I thought this was just a civil debate about differences in patriotic visions???
Some of us ex-wives here had flash-backs to former abusive husbands watching Biden’s intimidating and bullying treatment of Ryan.
I think Neal Cavuto and Bill O’Reilly are Democrats....they are RUDE INTERRUPTORS just when someone on the right is getting to their main point. I can’t stand them.
Speakers in my car are not the best, so I didn't hear the interruptions and thought BiteMe was doing OK - except I was screaming "Liar" several times.
Got home and watched the second half....could not believe the rudeness.
Ryan could have nailed him quite a few times, but chose caution instead. He did a good job for his first big-time debate.
Charles Krauthammer nailed it this morning on FOX....
"If you read the transcript - it was a tie.
If you listened to it - Biden won.
If you watched it - Ryan won.
MayflowerMadam, I am sure some did. I was kinda cracking a guy joke.
I am at over 40 years... I think she’s going to keep me. ;>)
Actually, since Ryan only had 40 minutes, it’s 82 times in 40 minutes. And if you throw out the opening and closing statements, it’s about 82 times in 32 minutes, or once every 23 seconds. Add in Martha’s butt-ins, and we’re down to about once every 17 seconds.
Hey, at least Martha kept sneering grins under control, right?
Nothing any liberal candidate does upsets them.
Biden destroyed an innocent American’s life and smiled all the way!
Joe Biden - Bearing false witness, as usual!
Do you have Prince Albert in a can? Then let him out.
When I was a kid I thought that was A hilarious phone prank.
Did Ryan help the ticket win in November?
That is the only important outcome.
Democrats, and it extends far beyond VP Biden, demonstrate a fevered class division consciousness while being totally classless. To me, it demonstrates a view I am convinced that Democrat officialdom are imbued with; that Democrats are, by innate right, entitled to government office unless denied by unfair elections (2000 and 2004), candidate lies or other obstructions. The lack of class, as demonstrated by Biden, comes from the arrogance of a natural office holder!
Only 82 times?? I thought it was more...I think I saw better debates from a 5 year old then Biden last night.
Biden's contempt for Ryan and everyday Americans is the same contempt they feel... Maybe ABC pays them enough so waiters in fancy restaurants kiss their butts ... throw away cash might shield them from what jerks they've become...

Yep... and some of us looked at Ryan and thought, “...if my daughter brought someone like that home, and they seemed to be in love, I would SO get down on my knees and count my blessings...”
Beautifully stated. It's the same attribute that has most socialists thinking of themselves as moderates. It's the echo chamber of public education, from kindergarten to adult advertising that has them believing it some kind of norm.
How many times did the moderator interrupt Ryan. It must have been a really large number too. So the next question is how many times was Ryan interrupted in total. It goes well over 100.
“Rudeness aside, did Ryan or Biden win?”
It depends on perspective, of course. Biden’s performance clearly indicated that camp O is still shoring up its base...they certainly didn’t go for the independent voter with this performance. I think that’s a bad spot to be in this late in the race.
Ryan looked nervous at first, and ‘left alot on the table’ by not countering some of Biden’s less than truthful statements. But he did look like a guy who was serious, and could take over for a president, if necessary. It was his introduction to most Americans, and I think he did well in that.
I also think Biden may have lost the debate in slow motion. He left some really big sinkholes out there, for Obama to contend with. He fantastically blamed the Benghazi massacre on his own administration’s intelligence agencies and State Department...that will be talked about constantly until the next presidential debate. And, some of his lies were so over the top (standard fare for Biden), the media cannot ignore. He stated “I voted against it” after complaining about the Iraq war, Afghan war, and Medicaid Part D....and its not too hard for the media to figure out that he did vote for the wars....and they have already reported on it today.
But back to the original question...its hard to put rudeness aside...because I literally could not hear Ryan some of the time. It is very difficult to evaluate content, when you can’t hear what one guy is saying.
The polls will tell the tale....but what happens if Barry doesn’t live up to Joe’s performance? The public will see Barry, once again, letting somebody else do all the hard work....its always been about the top of the ticket, and they have big problems with that.
The count I heard was 82 times by Biden, 32 times by moderator...Ryan spoke for 40 minutes...and its about one interruption every 24 seconds of speaking.
Did obama give his finger in the last debate, anyone catch it?
“He’s being a bully.”
Correction: He’s being a total scu&bag.
a total scuzzbag bully
