Joe Biden interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times in 90 minutes. The Democrats have become the rude party

No one’s denying that Joe Biden delivered the more energetic performance in Thursday’s vice presidential debate. He interrupted Paul Ryan 82 times in 90 minutes. Yet some polls say that Ryan won and many pundits are calling it a draw. How come?

Two reasons. First, deconstruct the Biden bluster and some of what he said was nonsensical. In the first 10 minutes alone, Joe insisted that the US intelligence community was wrong on Libya but trustworthy on Iran. He claimed that the staff at the Benghazi embassy didn’t want extra security when lots of sources say that they begged for it. He seemed to rule out war with Iran under any circumstances, which would remove America’s one bargaining chip. As political klutzes go, Biden is to talking what Gerald Ford was to walking.

More importantly, Biden was rude. Perhaps he was trying to emulate Romney’s dominant performance from the week before. But where Romney was commanding, Biden was just insulting. The most damning moments came when the camera went split screen. On the right was Ryan trying to make a serious point about world peace. On the left was Biden laughing. The Vice President’s performance will doubtless rally the party faithful and give them a few applause lines to live off through to November. But it’s hard to imagine independents warming to these theatrics.

The Democrats have made the classic mistake of thinking that what they want to see is what everyone else wants to see. This isn’t peculiar to the Obama/Biden ticket but part of a long-term evolution. Back in 2000, Al Gore huffed and puffed his way angrily through a presidential debate and possibly cost his party the election. The Democrats ought to have learned from that, but .....

Seems the ABC production crew is so biased and hateful that they actually thought they were helping Biden by showcasing his contempt and rudeness.

Biden's contempt for Ryan and everyday Americans is the same contempt they feel... Maybe ABC pays them enough so waiters in fancy restaurants kiss their butts ... throw away cash might shield them from what jerks they've become...

Yep... and some of us looked at Ryan and thought, “...if my daughter brought someone like that home, and they seemed to be in love, I would SO get down on my knees and count my blessings...”

The Democrats have made the classic mistake of thinking that what they want to see is what everyone else wants to see.

Beautifully stated. It's the same attribute that has most socialists thinking of themselves as moderates. It's the echo chamber of public education, from kindergarten to adult advertising that has them believing it some kind of norm.

How many times did the moderator interrupt Ryan. It must have been a really large number too. So the next question is how many times was Ryan interrupted in total. It goes well over 100.

“Rudeness aside, did Ryan or Biden win?”

It depends on perspective, of course. Biden’s performance clearly indicated that camp O is still shoring up its base...they certainly didn’t go for the independent voter with this performance. I think that’s a bad spot to be in this late in the race.

Ryan looked nervous at first, and ‘left alot on the table’ by not countering some of Biden’s less than truthful statements. But he did look like a guy who was serious, and could take over for a president, if necessary. It was his introduction to most Americans, and I think he did well in that.

I also think Biden may have lost the debate in slow motion. He left some really big sinkholes out there, for Obama to contend with. He fantastically blamed the Benghazi massacre on his own administration’s intelligence agencies and State Department...that will be talked about constantly until the next presidential debate. And, some of his lies were so over the top (standard fare for Biden), the media cannot ignore. He stated “I voted against it” after complaining about the Iraq war, Afghan war, and Medicaid Part D....and its not too hard for the media to figure out that he did vote for the wars....and they have already reported on it today.

But back to the original question...its hard to put rudeness aside...because I literally could not hear Ryan some of the time. It is very difficult to evaluate content, when you can’t hear what one guy is saying.

The polls will tell the tale....but what happens if Barry doesn’t live up to Joe’s performance? The public will see Barry, once again, letting somebody else do all the hard work....its always been about the top of the ticket, and they have big problems with that.

The count I heard was 82 times by Biden, 32 times by moderator...Ryan spoke for 40 minutes...and its about one interruption every 24 seconds of speaking.

In the future, the 'split screen' needs to be standardized. None of us are interested in biased production crews slanting debates for one side or the other. .

I wonder if ABC News distorted the sound when Ryan was speaking? It's possible. Who would put it past them?

Biden was coached by top dem debate professionals. They knew what they were doing. Dem pros designed their tactics to attempt to push Ryan to lose his temper - by constantly mocking him. They were trying to throw him off his game. Biden being a jerk was NOT an accident. No one could convince me otherwise.

Ryan was studied - focus groups were used... Dems had their own agenda for the debate - and it had nothing to do with the citizens right to hear the two men.

Seems the Dems secondary tactic was to have everyone looking at Biden smirking while Ryan was trying to speak. A distraction. Biden's spoiled brat routine kept people from hearing Ryan. It kept me from hearing much of what Ryan was saying.

The MSM played their role of 'useful idiot/enablers to a tee. They know the game, they know the players.

Dem tactics were obvious. George Stephanopolis ran a war room for Clinton - he knows what's going on... and strangely enough doesn't think the truth of what dems were doing was newsworthy... IMHO These are not good people.

That’s the ‘rat party through and though. Remember the “jokes” the Climtonistas played on the incoming Bush administration by changing typewriter keys, stealing items, leaving juvenile and insulting notes, etc? I don’t remember everything they did (I don’t recall anything too egregious) but they just couldn’t leave with some class.

It really is the leftist mindset. Gordon Brown’s people did the same thing when he left office in Britain as Prime Minister. One of his people (forget which one) left a note about having “spent all the money”-hardee-har-har. This when people were losing jobs and cuts were going to need to be made.

Something’s mentally and emotionally off on the kinds of people who go into and support leftist politics, there really is. They’re mentally “off”, emotionally stunted, living forever in some Peter Pan fantasy where they never want to grow up, except inasmuch as thy can do harm to those who see life differently.

It should have put us on guard from the beginning when they were hollering about “tolerance” all the time. Anyone who needs to make such a song-and-dance about “tolerance” and make themselves the self-appointed arbiters of who needs to have it and for what, might just know deep down that they’re the ones lacking it.
